Closest I can say is a bullfrog. Throw some salt on them and frog legs go nuts even after a few hours.

Reports of witnesses, including the store owner in every single report that's been linked.

LOL, Thats my point, lets wait until all the evidence is out before stating there was no evidence showing him having a gun.

Fair, but my comment is in response to people saying it is clear he was reaching for a gun. That isn't clear. At all.

For the record, I'm pretty certain he did actually have a gun, so I'm not sure if you misunderstood.

The Justice Dept is opening a civil rights investigation into the case.

What does that mean exactly?

As have I, but there is something about it happening in Baton Rouge that makes it more palpable. This is probably the closest to home video I've ever seen of someone dying, and the reaction of the officers makes it even worse. No one wanted anyone to die there and it makes it all the more tragic.
I agree

Did you not watch the first video? Did you not hear them going off before they took him to the ground?

It's simple, if your first instinct as a police officer at any sign of a threat is to grab your gun then you don't need to be a police officer. The absolute last resort should be the use of a gun, not the first. Even the military adheres to rules of engagement to where soldiers only fire their weapon when being fired upon. Apparently law enforcement officers in this country have free reign to use whatever discretion they want. What happened to Alton Sterling is yet another tragic example of piss poor law enforcement training, nonexistent oversight/accountability, and sheer stupidity.

First video when he's standing up by the car. Right off the bat.

The second cell phone video in this case was the first one in a while that I've watched all the way through and I think I'm done with these videos for a while. It was bad.

I skinned (or as Hokie Gajan would say, skint), gutted, and cut the head off of a rattlesnake. An hour later it had coiled back up

Ummm....so we are already to the point of disregarding facts such as tasers and attempted restraint as not happening?

So the tazering and taking him down and trying to cuff him happened after they shot him?

see numerous comments about him being tased. I certainly could have missed it but is there any news report of him actually being tased? I am not saying he wasn't. I do not see tasers in the video.

Wait wait wait wait, you've been commenting this entire time and didn't even know what happened?

however; one of the officers saw him reach for his gun

Yeah, I'm confident the officers thought he was going for his gun. Whether he was going for his gun or just moving his arm resisting will likely never be known, and it really doesn't matter because the cops don't have the luxury of waiting to find out.

You do the math homie.

I have. I've spent 105 pages arguing that the officers had no choice once it got to that point. It doesn't mean Sterling deserved to die. It doesn't mean the cops were infallible the entire time, but once it got to that point, he is going to get shot and I don't blame them for making that decision.

So you are saying, if you had a guy restrained for whatever reason, and he had a gun, if you see him attempt to reach for that gun are you giving him the benefit of the doubt? You realize how little time there is to make a decision? You can monday morning QB all you want, but Sterling put himself in the situation.

You're right it shouldn't be the first- maybe they should taze a few times and then try getting him to the ground

I disagree. In this day and age you can't count on people not to shoot you if you're police officer. I am sorry but police officers must be proactive and people must learn not to resist a lawful order
