Some of my favorite days include hopping in the boat and running through the spillway until I have no service on my phone

That was my first thought.
When/if the OP gets married and has kids, the only alone time he'll have is when he's dead.

I tell my SO I'm turning my phone off. I then leave it off with no house phone and go about my life until I feel like dealing with the dozens of people who assume I'm face-down in a ditch because my phone was off.

My phone gets turned off at 7pm every night, on again at 7am.

It's all about setting expectations.

To the level that you can. Turn your duties over to someone trusted and let them know you need to alone time for work related issues. For personal life just tell a close friend who is in your inner circle the same thing. That you need to be alone and are going off the grid for a bit. That person can relay the message to others if they are that damn nosey.

Wish that was an option. I have to be contactable 24/7 in case of problems.

People question why I have a motorcycle.

Alone time. Hit the back roads and just enjoy. Great way to clear your mind and unwind.

Much like fishing by yourself

This is why I want a fishing kayak.

Cant afford a boat, but a kayak will get me on the water. And there are few places more peaceful than watching the sunrise on the water.

Im not sure of what type of business youre in, but you couldnt have a voicemail message that said you would be away from your phone for a few hours and to leave a message? I completely understand what youre saying as I struggle to find my quiet time that I love. I actually love sitting in a dark house with all lights completely off, blues or classical music playing and sip on old fashions. I workout or get active when Im stressed as well. Shooting my bow is my biggest stress reliever of all. I bring the dog to the farm, leave the phone in the truck and just shoot my bow. Another option is to go for a long hike in the woods and turn the phone off.

You're not special or unique in any way. Everyone needs time alone, guns n roses even wrote a sing about it. Just tell whoever that you want to be alone and they'll understand because they're the same way. But I don't think you want time alone, I think you want to bitch about not having any because it makes you feel like you're "bucking the trend". So you just keep brooding over this easily solved problem because that's what you really want.

I've seen this posted before many times and don't understand how anyone could let this happen. If it's really true, it's not a good thing for your business or for you.

Is it weird that I like alone time, too? I'm not even sad about anything, but sometimes I just like an evening where I can eat a bowl of cereal and play video games or watch a baseball game.

Easy. I'm the only product line manager in the country for a 24/7 operation. I have some weekends where operations are not active and I'm able to get away. Nothing consistent tho.

NO!!! It's not fricking weird! Why does everyone have to feel like a fricking snowflake for every thing that they do. "Wow I'm such a character cause I like action movies", no everyone likes those! You're just like everyone else and there's nothing wrong with that. fricking Christ.

I pee sitting down and I eat noodles with a spoon.

Does that make me weird?
