Yea, you've never posted pics or talked about your age ever on here.
and yet you keep acting like you think I'm a boomer.

Yep, and now I'm done with you. Too stupid to waste time on anymore.
Poor little fragile, special snowflake. Nobody told poor LNCHBOX that all those thousands of dollars in student loans would not only have to be repaid, he'd actually be the one to repay it. He thought the magic student loan fairy would come and make those mean, nasty loans just go away. Now he's finally realizing how the world works and he's mad and throwing a hissy fit.

You idiots obviously don't work or go to school, dicking around on the internet all day.

Says the guy also participating in this thread actively. There's this nifty thing called multitasking. You should try it.

I worked hard for a lot of years to reach a position where I can frick off on the internet while my people work. College was an awesome investment for my parents. They haven't had to lift a finger to help me since I graduated.

While this is true, you do realize that they are not the ones approving constant hikes in tuition, right?
And they approved those hikes because they knew that every May a fresh crop of idiots would come out of high school and be willing to pay it. And they'll keep on hiking those prices up until they finally reach a level people are unwilling to pay.
You see, the funny thing about the free market is the owner of a product will always charge the maximum for their goods or service the market will support. Once the price of their goods or services moves beyond what the market will support, that owner will either have to lower their price or go out of business.

the funny thing about the free market
Federal loans are like Medicare and Medicaid. They artificially impact the free market.

Dude is cool with allowing the student loan bubble to just keep blowing up until it bursts and fricks the economy even more, all the while blaming the 18 year old kids instead of the people making this shite happen.

This went like I thought it would. A bunch of high and mighty 40-50 year old dudes talking down to younger generations even though they were paying far far less than current generations, in a much better job market.

That's the boomer's MO. Kick the can down the road until it all goes to shite.

There you go babbling on about a free market when you don't have the slightest idea what it means.
There are certain goods and services in the life that justifiably are not treated as a free market.

Would be a better use of our money than giving billions in aid to Iran, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Jordan, etc. etc. etc.

Who are these people holding a gun to the head of all those poor innocent 18 year olds and forcing them to sign their name on student loans?
Or are you saying that 18 year olds are perhaps lacking in the maturity and wisdom to enter into a monetary contract in an intelligent and informed manner fully aware of the consequences down the road once those loans come due?

I understand your point, but in an effort to push personal responsibility, I can't blame anyone other than the person who voluntarily took the loan.
Kids today just make decisions with little no research or thought, about how it will affect them 10 minutes from now. Then when shite hits the fan, they get mad, expect a clean slate, then do it all over again.
I sound like a grumpy old man, but it's getting tiresome hearing all the excuses these days, and now that I'm paying a good bit of my paycheck in taxes, I feel I have a right to feel that way.

The people in industry that require a 4 year degree for things that don't need them. Sales for starters.

For loans the size necessary to take care of the costs of going to school these days, yes. Especially with the lack of education on the subject provided by the financial aide departments, which again you have no clue about apparently.
