Hate it for my hometown, but glad they said something about the cross being stolen today on Fox's report.

remind me of why the DTL investigation was crap?

General ineptitude of the BRPD. All of their missteps & restarts probably cost the lives of the last two victims. Yoder - DTL’s last victim - most definitely should still be with us.

Man, my kid is 16 and looking at colleges. I attended LSU, my parents attended LSU, my grandparents too. I'm not sure I want to turn him loose in Baton Rouge anymore.

I too am a BR resident and an LSU alum with kids only about 5-6 years away from college.

I’ve already been telling them for years they can’t go to LSU. They must look elsewhere. I will pay for their tuition literally in any other state other than Louisiana or Mississippi… but I will fight them tooth and nail to keep them away from these 2 states after high school.

If you love your children, I strongly suggest you do the same. There is no future here for them. Do anything and everything you can to prevent them from growing roots in this shithole.

how will 1 murder change a city?

Because most others are not random and usually the result of some kind of revenge or drug related issue. This one was completely random and brings things to a new level.

Not to mention the horrific nature of it too.

Born and raised in BR area, LSU grad, and moved to Houston 12 years ago and never looked back. Love my family and friends in BR, but I’m done with it. We still come in to visit and occasional football, baseball, or softball game, but otherwise done.

My daughter loves LSU and looking at colleges but already knows it’s a no. Thankfully she doesn’t want to go to school in La at all and I’m good with it.

The same day that the BR Union of Police put that billboard up 2 1/2 yrs ago, my family and I had the same discussion. We are in the same place as I bet a lot of other families are. LSU is not in their future unless it's online courses in the summer or something along those lines. Done. Finished. C'est tout fini!

I think the only hope of solving this is to offer a large reward.Criminals rarely can keep their mouths shut.these kinda people, would cut their own mother’s throat for money.

Somebody knows something, make it worthwhile for them come forward.

BATON ROUGE - Police believe an LSU student who was shot while sitting in her car at a railroad crossing was attacked at random by her killer. On Tuesday, a Baton Rouge Police spokesperson told WBRZ that officers have found no evidence suggesting Allie Rice was specifically targeted by her attacker, adding that the encounter seemingly happened at random.

At least he said something.....

quote:

District Attorney Hillar Moore told WBRZ that federal agencies like the FBI, ATF and DEA were helping with the investigation locally. Moore added that detectives have investigated every tip they've received, refuting claims on social media that police had not taken some witness statements.

"They are working their tails off trying to get info they can. There are also rumors as phones are ringing off the hook... People saying what they think happened. I caution people not to go there," Moore said.

The district attorney said none of the tips they've received so far has been enough to identify a suspect.

"Everything that can possibly done is being done right now by every agency regardless of the initials behind their name. whether it's state police, DEA, ATF, FBI... you name it. Everyone is working and working this matter expeditiously as we speak," Moore said.

That’s the worst scenario.

Could happen anywhere anytime to anyone.

Jeez

I think its interesting that the other news outlets are not even mentioning this.

The other news outlets aren't going to cite a freelance reporter as their source.

We still aren't positive that this was a a random murder. It most likely is, but we don't know yet.

The caliber of people in that area and who would likely be involved in this kind of thing are the kind of people who would just throw shite like this away cuz "frick that white girl".

I'd like to believe you, but I've seen enough episodes of the Wire to know that's wypipo money. Hopefully I'm wrong.

What a piece-of-shite thing to say.

That’s not a piece of shite thing to say at all. In fact, I tell my customers that exact scenario when they ask about life insurance on their children. If my kid dies, I’m not working for a while. I mean months. I’m just not going to be able to function. I have life insurance on my kids but I’m an agent so that sort of thing is on my mind.

Some people have businesses to run and doors to keep open. They can’t just take months off

That's pennies for a crowd-sourced funding campaign for a community as large as LSU and Tigerdroppings. I will donate a couple grand right now if a legit one gets going.

The only thing that would make me hesitant about giving out some massive reward like 250k is that it probably would go to some ghetto thug who would just use the money on stuff that would end up in the same exact situation as where we are now

I considered that but what else is going to convince people to talk? An all-call to immunity to anything other than rape or murder? I think a big reward is the best option.
