You obviously can't trust the locals here, and thus hopefully someone else steps in. If there is a cover-up, then hopefully every last one of them should be in jail.

Why did they tell her that instead of her learning the truth through a news report? You understand the fact they told her one thing while the truth was something different begs the question, don't you? When did they have this piece of video evidence too, which shows that what these assholes were saying was clearly incorrect?

he's trying to imply they simply made a mistake by listening to the liars, even though the fricking crime scene may have provided some information to thwart that narrative

While simultaneously arguing that the baws intended to just have a chat with guns drawn.

If they saw the video, then they could clearly see what these morons weren't being honest. If they had the video from the day this happened, which is what I suspect, then what was written in the report becomes even more egregious.
And again, it begs the question why did they tell the mom the lie.
