All these people today fixated on the wrongs of slavery some 155 years ago

Why aren’t those consumed with the wrongs of slavery a century and a half ago in this country in Africa calling for an end to the slave trade still going strong in the Sudan, Niger, Mali, Ethiopia, Chad or the Congo? Where is the outrage? I mean, you don’t have to drag up 200 year old corpses from their grave or topple statues to attack slavery of young black men and women. Hell, for that matter, You can pick any race you want and get mad as hell at the human sex slave trade going on right fricking now and in this very country?
Want to speak up for those who can’t speak up for themselves? Well frick, it’s not as if they’re In short supply. Take your pick. They may not be able to do anything for your status or reputation as a real bleeding heart liberal, but they are actually enduring hardships you cannot fathom. And you millennials looking for a legacy for your generation... Here ya go. Here’s something to actually do with your fricking lives besides Make fools out of yourselves over shite that died off 155 years ago in this country, but’s still alive and well in the world today.

Neo Confederates assured us that slavery could not survive past the 19th century. It was dying .

If people were more focused on the challenges and opportunities in front of them they’d have more prosperity and less time to focus on things they can’t change in the past.

Pretty sure they are talking about here in the US. Industrialization, the internal combustion engine, cheap labor and changing social attitudes wouldn’t have let it survive here, like in all the other industrialized western nations.

Whatever makes you feel better about your ancestors’ sins, I guess

It's more likely than not that his ancestors didn't own slaves. I think something like 6-7% of the population did. Or they could have immigrated here after the Civil War

Because they are bad people and hypocritical as well

Or they could have fought and died on the Union side. Do I get something for their sacrifices?

ironically, the only people who care about slavery are the ones using the narrative to enslave people
Posted on 7/28/20 at 3:11 pm to Mike da Tigah
frick it. It's time to move on to anti-slavery worldwide. We need to tear down these disgusting massive symbols of slavery.

Same can be said for Trump supporters.

This isn't about slavery. This is about blaming other people for their lot in life.
