Old days?

This is still the law... at least in AZ. No witness for prosecution means no due process, and case dismissed

OP-

Stop looking at the internet while driving. That is worse than texting.

Focus on the road.

Had a friend post to Waze about police and the police messaged him back something like “thanks a lot rat.” And “stay safe out there.”

Does that BS actually hold up in court since the ticketing officer pretty much has to testify that he didn't actually see or record anything and he just got a phone call from his buddy saying a car that looked like yours was speeding two miles back?

The cop hiding calls ahead and says something like "Blue Honda Accord, 85 mph" and the cop a couple of miles up the road knows exactly which car to burn with his own LIDAR the instant they're in view before they have a chance to spot him on the side of the road and slow down. The first cop is just a scout to boost the efficiency of the revenue generators sitting down the road.

Or the car slows down when they saw the first cop.

Not everyone spots the hidden cop behind the sign. He can see who passes him and doesn't light up their brake lights, you know.

In Louisiana they reschedule your court date now when you plead not guilty and the officer isn't there.

Trying to undermine law enforcement? Not cool

Better to get people to slow down by warning them than enforcing it with a ticket.

A buddy of mine used to like talking about how his dad, a cop, would sit at the end of the hov lane and get tons of people driving in it illegally. I asked wouldn't it be better for him to sit at the front and deter people from getting on there illegally in the first place?

Yep. Most people speed back up once they pass the first cop and don't get hit.

That's bullshite. Has that been challenged?

The burden of proof is on the state. They also have a requirement to provide a speedy trial. Rescheduling violates that.

What is up with these aircraft flying above the interstate at night ? I travel from Kenner to Gonzales every night around 11 pm. Are these planes or helicopters shooting radar ? How does that work ?

They may have radar now. They used to just time a car from one landmark to another and calculate the speed

However, the part in Louisiana is where you get jackasses camping out in the left lane going 60, speed changers (speed up/slow down/speed up/slow down), and people going extremely slow in the right lane. It's a headache to drive I-10 in Louisiana. The last thing we need is a cop to make slow poke slam on his brakes as though his going 20 mph under the speed limit isn't enough.

All you motherfrickers who think you are some kind of Dan Gurney or Mario Andretti have gotten tiresome. You aren't a bit better driver than anyone else.

The standard rule is that the speed limit should be set at the point in which the 85th percentile of drivers would feel comfortable driving were there no speed limit so as to minimize the variance between high and low speeds. On that stretch of interstate, I would ballpark that to be around 75mph.
