Looking at the subreddit sounds like everything’s back live

Poor S is going to get stuck somewhere today, was supposed to go through DFW today
We all know he’s taking the private jet

I always have issues flying American. Hope it works out for everyone trying to get home for Christmas.

Yea they’re definitely back going. Just heard a plane over my house, checked the Wichita airport site and it was an American flight that just took off.

HAHA oh man, the one day a year my mom flies to go see my brother. She’s gonna need a Xanax.

If everything is back live, it's still going to take them a few hours to get everything figured out. Those 5am flights from DFW still need their approvals for weight and balance, now throw in the next 7am bank of flights and those are going to be delayed waiting for clearances. It's going to be a mess the rest of the day. Oh there's snow in the northeast and the thunderstorms in Dallas. Happy travels!
For those of you wanting to see what DFW looks like on the radar map, take a look at the link here. It's from flightradar 24, you can zoom in and see the status of the planes on the ground. I still don't see any AA planes headed to the departure runways yet
Arrivals do look like they're taking off for DFW, it's departures that are the issue

I’ve flown on an airplane before. Really makes you think.

Or AA's operations and technology is that shitty. Have you ever tried using their app? Been a victim of 10 gate changes in a matter of 2 hours? Had a rolling maintenance delay where every 10 minutes you're delayed for 2 hours?

We've had a few Envoy flights take off from DFW, looks like the first mainline AA flight is going to take off shortly. A bunch of flights just took off for DFW as well, problem is the thunderstorms are starting to get closer to the airport so have a bad feeling a lot of those planes may be circling when they get closer. All westbound departures are having to go all the way SW to Stephenville before making a W or NW turn

It's cool to see how much of a mess some airports can be, how many planes are lined up to take off, circling patterns/how many are trying to land.

You probably have a good view of the departures that are actually getting out right now before the storms hit.
Looks like the FAA just posted a ground stop for DFW until 9am Central due to the storms nearby FAA
quote:
Ground Stop 24/8:34 AM EST—24/10:00 AM EST
Departures to Dallas/Ft Worth International are grounded due to thunderstorms.
Probability of extension is medium (30-60%).
AAL has their own specific ground stop for DFW
quote:
Departures to Dallas/Ft Worth International are delayed avg. 45 mins. due to other.
Delay assigned to departures within 1600 nautical miles
Contiguous US DEP Carrier AAL only flights included.
All departures receive expected departure clearance times (EDCTs)

Yeah Mr Cold Front I guess showing up slightly earlier than expected. It should be out of DFW by no later than 3.

Hate those frickers. I was stuck overnight in Boston this past Saturday because of a cancelled AA flight. Zero fricks were given by them.
