quote:Well you married a big broad, and big broads get to be bigger broads 11 years later so you surely aren’t surprised.
I'm 6'1". 220. She maybe weighed 180 when we married.
But to answer your question, pay to have a business evaluation done showing it’s worth 400k, open up the books to show you owe 335k - and then you’ve got a 65k asset to split with her in the divorce. You can likely put it on a payment plan and pay her 1,000/month from the business for 3 years.

You get consequences.

I couldn't care less about what she looks like/weighs. I just want her out of my life.

Ain't much to split down the middle. My business provides a service. Nothing else. 2 employees and a 2015 work van. No tangible assets. Just a customer portfolio.
How are you in debt for over $300k with no assets?

Paying the previous owner. Vastly overpayed for the business.

I think I'm too invested at this point. Mediation is this week.

Gotcha. Hope everything works out for you. It really pisses me off women get to take the fruits of a man’s labor when they decide they don’t want to be with them anymore

That doesn't add up unless you financed some 325K rims for that van
How much is the customer portfolio worth

Don't know. A bank told me I was vastly overpaying for the business. They wouldn't give me a loan. They told me it was only worth 400k. I paid 750k for it.

She weighs probably 260. Still interested?
In that case, congratulations on your impending divorce.

quote:So you've already consulted with an attorney about asset settlement in a divorce in your state but you thought it would be a good idea to ask anonymous posters on a message board how it works?!?
Lol....that's not what my attorney tells me...

Wait, so why didn’t you just ask your attorney this question?
He probably can’t afford it.
Why are you, of all people, asking why someone is asking a basic question on here?

If she tries to claim the asset, she also owes the debt. The remainder (should she win, which she will) will be 50/50.
