That shipped sailed a long time ago with laptops, smartphones and homes that have countless devices linked to wireless routers.
I’m in digital advertising so when we’re setting up a campaign and we walk through the ways we’d like to target people, the data we have to determine who we hit (socioeconomic, psychographic and much more) is staggering and feels nearly infinite.
Not only that, all of the data that is collected is cross referenced with experian, axiom, and other data aggregators. And lastly, it’s cross referenced again with credit card companies to learn purchasing behavior.
By the time the data has been cross referenced over and over again, there really isn’t anything left to the imagination. I’ve been working with it for so long I don’t even give it a second thought, but there is no denying that even the minutia of everyone’s lives is well documented these days.

We also live in a society where people who think others are stupid to own Alexa, Google, etc devices are also to stupid to realize they already own numerous devices that do the same thing.

Those natural resources are here for us to use and use however we like. I’ll continue to buy gas guzzlers without ever carpooling, drink from plastic water bottles while rarely recycling and run the shite out of my AC and heat during peak times. I would even use spray deodorant if I could find it because I like it.

I’m convinced that a cure for a lot of diseases have been found, however in the name of what is good for the planet.... they decided to keep them from the public.

I absolutely love my Alexa. I am certain that she spies on me but so do smartphones and computers.

1. Cellphones already do that as well as laptops
2. My Echo Dot cost me $20
I love when people on the OT try to act like they're deep

To give some further context, I was talking with a member if my fraternity. He was the Sec. Of Agriculture when the USSR invaded Afghanistan. Told me they were viewing license plates over there with incredible clarity. Nest and bring doorbells were not around then, but his description of the clarity was on par.
