Aldi is great for basic groceries. We do about 80% of our grocery shopping there, with an occasional run to Publix or Target to get things we can't get at Aldi. Like, if you just need food for the week, go to Aldi. If you need paper towels, deodorant, dog food, etc, go somewhere else.

An anagram of Aldi is “laid”, that’s much better than Winn Dixie’s “In ex I wind” or Albertson’s being “boners salt”.

I am genuinely curious what you like about it?

I live in Bossier but they opened one in South Shreveport. I made a rare trip across the river to go check it out and wasn’t really impressed. They are supposed to be opening one in North Bossier soon but honestly I will likely stick with the new Brookshires that opened last year or the Krogers just south of I-220.

I am anticipating that Rouses in Louisiana eventually gets bought out by Kroger or Publix.

i highly doubt it, honestly.... Rouse's has been expanding into markets where there are currently Publix, and not the other way around, so yeah, i definitely don't see that happening...

and Kroger has somewhat deep pockets, and have made a point to buy out competition before, but I dunno... the Rouse's , the people not the store, ar some hard headed, self-willed people bruh...

I went into the one off Siegen/I-10 and just don't see the wonder of them.

Total wine already made that area a bitch to get out of, I’d imagine it’s only gotten worse with a grocery store

This is a solid shop BTW. Between that and Martin's, that part of Baton Rouge/St. George is pretty set.

You must not really know them

Mr Donald is the nicest biggest teddy bear there is and Donny is, well, a little awkward but really really nice and cool.

They are self willed in a way, but I can see them selling out in a heartbeat if it set them up for life and all they had to worry about is their fishing boats, hunting camps and all the mouths to feed.

Amazon is going to eventually put a move on the bums around that complex. One of them has squatted out a spot along their surrounding sidewalk using a pile of shopping carts, clothes, and some old tarps....

Aldi tends to make the other grocery stores adjust their prices. It’s good for the community. Have shopped at ALDIs for 13 years. They sell their brands for the most part and many are as good or better than the name brands. Don’t go there looking for name brands.

Amazon Cortana

Solid subtle and underrated troll job by Amazon here.

(In case it's not clear to anyone...until Windows 11 was released, the embedded assistant tool in Windows was Microsoft Cortana. So Amazon found an similarly obsolete property named Cortana and built a warehouse on top of it.)

Aldi will covert some Winn Dixie’s to the Aldi format and others will remain Winn Dixie’s. So Winn Dixie isn’t going away. You’ll probably find they will be updated and run better.

Aldi-Nord is the largest grocer in Europe. They eventually will be the largest in the US and will overtake Walmart.

The "real" Cortana predated the assistant for over a decade. She also has a friend/frenemy named John-117 who isn't to be trifled with.

Some people will know exactly what is about to happen after they see the above image. After getting some very disturbing news you go back the way you came (if you were smart you had skipped a large part of the level by stealing the Banshee on the bridge). After getting past the Sentinels that pop up you go through a blast door and watch the Covenant and Flood fight. IYKYK
