August 2016 wasn't even classified a depression and look what happened. Yes I flooded and have zero desire to repeat it. I'll be keeping close tabs on this one.

It had a warm gulf to feed off of and wasn't getting eaten up with dry air. I flooded, I understand the concern but this isn't likely at all to produce that level of rain.

In masses? Doesn’t seem likely. People are here because 1) family and friends or 2) their job is here

Seems like the easier alternative is to move to an area of the city that did not flood.

Agreed. Being close to family and friends is one of the most important things to people that grew up in south LA, and people aren’t just going to up and leave when their family and friends need them the most.

Eh, friends come and go. Now, with family, sure it’s different, but I’ve noticed once someone loses their parents they tend to move away.

12z Euro EPS mean is a bit slower and west of the operational run. The individual members show more spread to the left than right.

Disclaimer: I have no reason to believe this will be nearly that bad.

However, having another 1000 yr flood in any given year is no more or less likely just because you've recently had one.

Not much. The main point is that the window of possibilities appears to slowly narrowing.

I wouldn't say masses but I have noticed a trend that more and more people are starting to entertain the thought of living east of BR or north of NOLA. People have been pouring out there over the past 15 years. Last year the biggest population growth in the whole state was Hammond at 9.1% growth since 2010. People do have a breaking point and those areas aren't far enough from family to warrant counting them out.

Yeah but that’s because of a whole different kind of neighborhood flooding.
