remove black and change racism to discrimination and he still has a solid point
destroying language is one of their goals. it's part of post modernism
when they destroy what words mean and then remake the meanings as they see fit, they control the narrative
example: racism

My professor in college told me if you want to rule the world all you have to do is change the dictionary.

basically the goal of the post-modernism warrior
it allows the goalposts to not only be constantly moved, but it allows for the PMW to deny that goalposts ever existed in the first place

I feel for your families injustices.
This is a key difference. I don't feel like my family has experienced injustice. It just is what it is. Ireland sucked. We came here. Started out poor and went from there. I still have family that hasn't moved beyond that. The world is not fair. Fair is where you go to ride the ferris wheel.

when other people think blacks have been on the same playing field as other races.
Every race on the face of this earth has been through some shite somewhere. Blacks are not the only enslaved race on this planet. Their experience is more recent than most, but it does not make that race special or deserving of reparations or whatever. It is time to accept that and move on.

The blacks who are in these horrible cycles need to pull themselves out of the mess they are in.
This we can agree on. No matter what the past was like, black people have to handle this for themselves. That is the only way it will work. No amount of government subsidy, welfare, regulation or declaration of illegal discrimination will substitute for a generation just deciding, "This is bullshite. It's on ME to try to improve this." And improving is going to require a substantial shift in cultural values away from the blame game, finger pointing, and government dependence to personal responsibility and independence.

The Fair Housing Act has been the law since 1968, that's 47 years. How does that affect success of blacks at all much less in 2016?
Discrimination In housing, mainly rental/lease still exists

I'm just going to put this here, and run the frick away.

well discrimination of all sorts will always exist
it's a chicken/egg scenario
are lower class people (who happen to be black) being discriminated against, or are black people (who happen to be lower class) being discriminated against?
that's the same question as the OP
the OP is saying "black people are being discriminated against" and critics (at least most of them) are saying "poor people are displaying why they're poor"

That will be deleted shortly, I imagine.

Is there some redneck a-hole somewhere refusing to rent to blacks, probably. Is that having a substantial impact on the success or lack thereof of black children in schools across the entire state of Alabama - hmmmm, not so much.
Real estate agents and landlords are whores. If you got the money honey they got the house, they don't care if you are black, white, purple, or polka dotted.

yeah that's disputed
blacks who immigrate to the US from Africa typically dominate American blacks in most social factors

Not that I'm an expert as a 33 year old white dude, but the biggest division I see is between the educated blacks vs non educated blacks. There is a such thing as white flight, but there's also a big flight of educated blacks from communities also. I don't blame them from wanting their children to live in better conditions, or go to better schools. I just don't see who's going to help the ones on the bottom overcome when the ones on top are flying away.

let's not forget the inclination of like to desire to be around like. black people enjoy living around black people in many areas. "black culture" is a thing in areas of mixed population (and only the most extreme whackos deny it)
this is why gentrification is so hated. it breaks up "black" areas and then they become "white". culturally it's seen as abhorrent and then economically it becomes expensive. this is labeled as racial discrimination by some...and the ultimate irony is the improvement of the area is what drives the costs to rise (along with a rise in market opportunities and products offered by those markets)

This is another good point. Why do you think a lot of these inner city schools have low enrollment? Because of what the poster I quoted said is a big reason...

Here's some irony for you. I live in a lily white zip code known prominently for its nearly all white residents. 2 of my 4 immediate neighbors are black. Great folks. They are "whiter" than I am.

The black folks I see in the Prarieville Wal Mart are generally much better off than most of the people in there from what I can tell. Lots of nice cars being driven by black people out here. Always smiling and nice. Lots of trashy whites too. Where I come from (small town LA), it is the exact opposite.

that's awful and disturbing that that still happens. But not sure how that equates to failing test scores.
Posted on 2/16/16 at 4:15 pm to Palmetto08
I can give you many reasons. I live in Selma, Al and have friends who teach in these failing schools. Let's take Selma High for example. A BRAND new school was built just a couple years ago. New A/V auditorium, an abundance of brand new computers, new gym, very, very nice setup that the private schools in the area are envious of. Now with all the that said it's the students themselves who don't show up for school, and by that I don't mean they aren't in attendance but don't show up to learn a damn thing. It's a baby sitting service from 8-3. The teachers can only do so much and many become numb to the lack of respect and attention given to them.
On another note, when the school was 60-40 black to white in the mid to late 80's the school was doing just fine. Then all he'll broke loose in 1990. A group of angry blacks took to the streets with bull horns and boycotted the schools decision to hire a certain superintendent that they didn't want. It got so bad for the white students that they had the National Guard escort them into and around the school. Weird how that didn't make the news insn't it. Finally after all of the white people had been run out, now having to pay for private education, and the blacks replaced the whites in all the upper management positions, teachers, principle, school board, etc., here we are almost 25 years later with a complete and utterly joke of a school system. It wasn't the " White Flight" leaving on their own, they we're run out. 80% of the parent or grandmomma could care less what's going on with their children's lives and how the school is performing. When they read the paper and see the test scores and have a failing school it's the white folks fault across town.
I'm not sure how it can be the white folks fault anymore since in this city you have a black Mayor and blacks in all positions that matter in City Hall, a majority black school board, a black police chief and black officers, a vast majority black city council, black judges and DA, all positions within the city such as water, sewage, road dept all black held positions. BUT, and wait for it, ITS STILL da White Folks fault.
I will post a few videos of the problems in and around my area and you tell me if I'm wrong on who's to blame for the mess. Better yet, anyone who argues against my case please feel free to come over and stay for a few years and see for yourself. I've had very Liberal minded friends move into town from places like Colorado, Calif and when they first got here they were singing Kum Baya, how dare we let this blatant racism exist, WE will be the ones who stop this and make it better. 4 + years later they are shaking their heads at the total lack personal responsibility and wasting of tax payers money in the black community. They ate fed up and most end up leaving.
We have had 100's of discussions in Selma on how to fix this but you can't say what the problem is without being called a racist. The only thing that I can think of that will work is take EVERYONES children at the age of 6 and put them in a military style and structured education system, away from their families with only weekend visits, holidays, etc. Let the teachers and disciplinarians do whatever they have to do to get all the kids on the same page. 12 years later you will see the first graduating class of all inclusive kids that were taught by the same teachers, spent the nights in the same dorms, ate at the same lunchroom tables, played sports on the same team, and on and on. This is the ONLY way that people will say that it's fair.
