but they came post-civil rights and didn't face the institutional-legal discrimination that others did
chinese and japanese faced similar segregation to blacks of the 50s in some cases, slavery of the 19th century

They have great food so we saved them from that stuff.

Lets cut to the chase you really just want to say slavery had no bearing on me as a person today. It does not matter what examples I give you.

keep in mind had your people not sold your ancestors into slavery you would most likely be living in Africa. I wonder if you would be better off...what do you think?
You say that as if it is a bad thing that I would have remained in Africa. I don't know where in Africa #SlaveDescendantProblems. I can only imagine what this world would be like if the Native Americans controlled their land and if Africa was not pillaged by outsiders.

Playing the blame game always helps.
Neighborhood doesn't have enough white people
White people move in
Too many whites driving up costs
Whites leave
Neighborhood in shambles because of white flight
Whites move back in
Costs too high. We want our old neighborhood back
Whites leave
Crime, drugs, violence....obviously b/c of white flight
Apply the same to the schools these idiots are complaining about. Moral of the story is that these kids are already a lost cause because their parents, "pastors", and city leaders won't ever own up to anything.
Notice key words that get everyone excited:
Transparency
Accountability
Segregation
White flight
Probably have "common sense" in there somewhere
Most of this racism hoopla was kicked into high gear by Obama. Look how much better we are 8 years later

Lack of funding, quality teachers, adequate learning environment, etc. The American system of government does exist. It was never designed in this nation for black people. The system was built on racism and is maintained by racism. I have zero issues with aid, but the problem is the genesis from which the aid comes from.

shaming of that culture
Which is called discrimination and deemed illegal.

old black men dropping N-bombs is one of my favorite things, esp if sheltered white friends of mine are around (they get scared)
They really mean it when they say it too.

Agreed. And you're right, I have never understood it. Personally, I think if a race wants to be held to a certain (or equal) standard, then everyone should hold them to that standard, barring excuses. I am quicker to condemn a white man than a black man because statistically speaking, I expect more from a white man. Just my POV though.

the other option could be shaming of that culture
This is the ONLY real option, but the one least likely to happen as anyone who criticizes it is labeled racist.
The culture is not only not criticized, but celebrated by politicians, black leaders, musicians, and everyone else making a buck off of their situation. The very people who could and should be teaching them how to overcome their condition are profiting by them staying in it.

There are many reasons for the school's failures. Racism is low on the list.

Has it? I mean really, not in some existential way.

The truth hurts. That is just how I feel about it though. One man's opinion means nothing in the grand scheme of things. And FWIW, I have many black friends, one of which is one of my closest friends.(before I get called racist)

so all white people are wealthy? who is painting with the broad brush now?
I can't think of one nation that the people that are wealthy didn't do things to step over others to gain that wealth and power. Do you know of such a place?
You are 100% right I was wrong to generalize a whole race like that. I do not know of one place like that but its one thing for those events to transpire but to do it and free yourself from any of there results of your actions is pretty shitty. (When I say you I mean the wealthy).

then explain how asians do better than white people
you keep speaking in generalities without much specifics

how do you want to address teh funding issues? many black schools already receive disproportionately high funding when all funding is considered
i won't blame teachers but you can feel free to do so
and how is the local school board/school responsible for the "adequate learning environment" instead of the students and parents? i mean hell if you want to go one layer deeper, the federal government and its anti-discrimination programs re: mental disabilities (which have exploded due to disability checks) handcuff schools a great deal
