Uh, we have to give aid to even people that deserve to be shot.

Which one has the gun? Don't you think that's the one that should show some restraint? Being as how it's his job to have a gun and to protect and serve the citizens of his jurisdiction? This isn't rocket science, dude.

what was he complying with
One could argue that the driver has an obligation to explain the facts of the accident to the on scene officer.

ok i know this is always argued about on this board but what was he complying with?

So if I am holding a wallet in front of a co-worker and holding a wallet in front of a cop, you think one is more dangerous than the other for me?
Logical fallacy. This is not a relevant question.
List of logical fallacies.

That's debatable. (See this case)

Do you think "he just felt like it" is the most logical (natural or sensible given the circumstances) conclusion to arrive at? I'm not starting my claim as fact so it requires no proof. I'm only stating that it's the most logical claim one can arrive at given the circumstances.
You're unsuccessfully moving goal posts for the sake of arguing. You are arguing it was logical (natural and sensible and characterized by or capable of clear, sound reasoning) to mistakenly identify a wallet as a gun, and shoot someone.

because he exited his vehicle with his wallet in his hand? Really?

I have NEVER exited my vehicle unless the cop asked me to do so... but there's no way to justify this shooting. I'm usually on the cop side first (because most people are fricking idiots and probably deserve to be shot) but in this instance it's just a really bad decision on the part of the cop.

So your argument now is that because this particular officer was afraid of the wallet that it was ok to blast the kid?

That tractor trailer driver still has his hands up.
Who exits a vehicle with both hands on their wallet?

Cop is an idiot and should be charged with manslaughter.

even after a minor car accident? Honestly, I've never seen anyone wait in their car after an accident. This guy was likely only doing so because it was wet and cold.

so shooting someone because you mistake their wallet for a gun is sensible?
If one truly mistakes the wallet for a gun, then yes. If one truly believes it is a gun, then wouldn't it be reasonable that they would respond with force?
The problem is the mistake, not the action after the fact. The mistake could be the result of a multitude of circumstances leading up to the mistake (e.g. poor training, poor vision, poor judgement, poor intelligence, poor mindset).

i do not think this was a good shoot but the guy kind of fumbled with his hands. I imagine he was more shocked by the command of "let me see your hands" and reacted slowly coupled with being off balance. I still don't see how the cop thought he was a threat though.

Pretty ridiculous how long they let him sit there and bleed... especially after realizing they fricked up and shot a guy holding his wallet.

That cop sure had a quick trigger finger and didn't seem to give a damn about the victims welfare, post-shooting. I had a Florida State Trooper draw down on me for simply exiting my vehicle during a traffic stop on my way home from Destin; I'm glad I wasn't shot.
