In general, they don’t go through the same screening process. The baw has an incentive to get married, because he gets a pay bump. The gal has an incentive, because she gets health insurance and housing benefits.

Yep. Three in my family are JAGs in 2 different branches. They stay busy.
It was never great, but seems to just get worse…mirroring society.
Not surprising when they brainwash kids to start families and marry people they shouldn’t even date. I can fix this debt-ridden meth addicted stripper with daddy issues! She will be loyal during my deployment and solve all that while I’m gone!

I remember our unit getting this talk in basic training before our first pass. The DS said something to the effect of not falling in love with a local (his words were more colorful) because we were their ticket out of the shithole town the base was located near.

How much bleach would it take to kill you? My dad once took a swig of bleach by mistake. He was cleaning his boat, and had sweat in his eyes when he reached for what he thought was a gallon of water. He joked afterwards that his insides were squeaky clean . Said he crapped white turds for a week.
