Airlines now requiring covid tests to fly each way

My wife tried to book a flight to Memphis and delta is requiring a negative covid test 48 hours before the flight to and from.
Even if vaccinated. frick flying. If she’s in a hotel in Memphis she’s now expected to find a doctors office and catch a cab and get a rapid covid test to fly home?

Is she flying international? There is no testing requirement for domestic flights.

All of this is So stupid, I’ve seen people start symptoms and test positive less than 24 hours after they tested negative

How is she booking it? Delta website, over the phone, 3rd party site?
I just got all the way to checkout on Delta for a flight from BTR to Memphis, nothing about COVID came up except as part of the blurb on optional trip insurance
