Even better is when the flight has been delayed for an hour, and dickheads who are in no hurry still get up.

We got into ATL late recently and I was sitting up front when the flight attendant got on the PA and asked everyone to stay seated so that those passengers with close connections could get off first. When she finished, I chuckled and told her she was dreaming if she thought that was going to happen. She made some comment about me needing to have more faith in mankind and that I was a horrible skeptic. When the seatbelt light went off, EVERY SINGLE PERSON on that plane jumped to their feet and got into the aisle. I just looked at her and she wouldn't even make eye contact.
Basically, people suck.

I feel that I should clarify that if someone has a disability or something they can't help, then I don't get upset. I agree about parents though. Some of them will let their kid scream and cry on the plane without saying anything to them.

Maybe but I think it's something that gets blown out of proportion (and believe me, I'm just as guilty) because it's the final thing on the flight and air travel is just such a shite experience these days that almost nobody leaves the plane not pissed.

Kind of like people moving out of the way of an ambulance. Sometimes you get a group with at least an acceptable sense of perspective, sometimes you get a group that doesn't give two shits about you or your problems.

I'm just saying Atlanta has a particular problem with the "I'm gonna get mine" attitude. You see it on the roads, you see it on planes, etc.

I think it is just more that people are lazy as hell.
I have seen tiny bags on wheels with handles being pulled by grown men. Pick that shite up by the handle and carry it.

Could also be that a place like Atlanta has an exceptionally high percentage of incoming flyers who are connecting compared to most other airports. I normally find people as a whole to be fairly considerate in my travels. Of course you've got your fair share of assholes but I don't think it's a majority, at least not with Americans.
