You can jump the run contact wires with a paperclip.

Quick trip to Home Depot to find a cheap thermostat. Pull this one off, wire up the new one, set to 70 degrees
Why bother grtting a thermostat. Just tie the wires together and turn the on a/c 24/7 , cause frick it, its not your a/c

Depends on how long I’m staying. Just a day, negative review and I’m leaving every faucet on and appliance and light. For a week, I’m having someone come circumvent the thermostat.

Did he disclose this before they booked?
If not, you can try to take it up with Airbnb. That’s all you can do.

There's lots you can do. Assuming you aren't an idiot.

bullshite.. lol at your ‘that’s all you can do’.. You can immediately check out and book somewhere else, if there’s availability .. if not then there are plenty of good responses in this thread regarding ‘what you can do .’
ETA i agree though that it should be pre-disclosed and a lot of this could be avoided .

I hope he enjoys the pinhole leak underneath his sink after I leave.

This could all be avoided if the AirBNB owner would disclose in the ad that he sets the AC at 80 degrees
I bet he did

67 is a reasonable set point for vacationers.

There was a great thread on here several years ago about it.

I'd upperdeck every toilet and the dishwasher. Should be nice for the next tenants in 80 degrees

I took care of a couple Beachfront Condos back in the day.
The renters would have the AC pegged as low as it would go and every window and glass door wide open most of the day...

I'm sure they do it, but almost nobody considers 80 degrees a comfortable indoor temperature. Our ACs pretty much run all day, all summer here. They don't fail after a few years or anything like that.

That’s fine if he wants grease poured down the drain, horrible reviews, and every light left on. In fact all the lamps would be moved right next to the thermostat.
67-72 is a reasonable range. 80 is not.
