Im a somewhat normal 6-3 and if Im not in an aisle seat it screws over the people enxt to me because I have to spread my legs out to even fit. I can not imagine being like 6-5 and trying to fly in a regular ecoomy seat.

So what's the "resistance" here? Airlines are doing whatever they want and people continue to fly more than ever.
Some people do choose to drive instead, but ya, for me 5 hours on the road or more means I'm on the plane whether I like it or not.

The Embraer 170/175 line is nice and roomy.
The CRJ line is like a sardine can. Those planes should be limited to one hour hops

I have broad arse shoulders, so the thinner they get, the more fricked i will be.
The brand new airbus that AA are using were nice, had ur own tablet type device to watch movies, play games, etc. But man are they getting thinner. I had to turn a little sideways when i sat in middle, so i didn't shoulder the lady next to us or my wife.

Two other thing to note when looking at these old cabin photos:
1. The pictures are absent of the huge plumes of cigarette smoke.
2. Damn look at how nice and presentable everyone dressed back in the day for travel! Nobody dressed like they're going to bed.

Member when airlines instituted baggage fees due to "skyrocketing fuel costs"?
I member.

True. We don't need to necessarily suit up to go to the grocery store or fly, but it's disgusting that in today's world, it's common to see people wearing sagging sweat pants or ill fitting clothing everywhere they go. Even at restaurants.

That's just a spirited aircraft right there. It's pining for the wide open skies.

I agree. Anytime I'm out in public I wear some type of button down or collared shirt with jeans or slacks.
Can't stand to look like a poor slob. Only exception is if I'm leaving the gym and stop to grab a bite to eat on the way home

Because on a relative basis tickets were exponentially more expensive then, Joe Sixpack could never have afforded to be in that picture.
Look at the pictures one more time and something else will scream out at you as well.

It's kind of like the fat shaming thing. It really works

Fly virgin airlines, they don’t frickin cram you in like slaves and the prices are relatively good considering this.

They need to make a "fat section" for planes where eligibility is determined by girth. Keep the smell and grossness quarantined, and leave us people who respect ourselves to fly in peace
One time on a small prop plane, I saw two fat ladies sitting together in the rear-left asked to move to the middle of the plane on opposite sides of the aisle. I kinda felt bad for them being called out, but I was glad we were not gonna be listing the whole flight.
