I’m like that with heat.

Theres been multiple years in the last 15 or so that I didn’t turn the heat on once the entire year.

Add East Laville, West Laville, Evangeline, Annie Boyd, Highland, and the two smaller ones in the Horsehoe.

I lived a summer without AC and you get used to it.

I don’t know how she did it.

Probably asked the contractor to not install one.

I grew up in New Orleans with an attic fan instead of AC. All the schools I attended, including high school had no AC, same with the dorms at LSU in the 70s.

Absolutely the greatest!

I didn't sleep more than a couple of nights consecutively under A/C until I was in my late 20s.

It has to be the greatest invention since the wheel.

A lady I worked with back in the 90’s built a house in Woodville,MS in 1995 and didn’t put A/C in it. I don’t know how she did it.

High ceilings and fans. And a large porch and a reclining chair. What kind of house did she build. It is only nasty for two to three months a year.

Yup. They built houses differently back in the day.

What's crazy is that my mom is 78 years old and when she was a kid... 7... 8 years old, they still didn't have AC yet. She told me they used to have to sleep on the floor when it got really hot. Having lived with AC all my life, I couldn't imagine not having it, but her growing up not having it she said that's just what you know. People have lived longer without it than with it.. But last week... I think it was Friday. It felt so god damn humid outside, I was outside for about 20 mins at a time and just sweating.. But as soon as that cool air from the AC hits you, it feels so good. It is indeed a great thing.

I could probably adapt to no a/c with an attic fan. Going to need a bigger porch for no electricity.

ac's are great but won't do you much good without modern medicine. you have to be alive for ac to matter so I'd say penicillin is higher than an ac. electricity gives us more uses than an ac so penicillin and electricity has to be top inventions.

I’m 74,grew up without A/C,car didn’t have it,school didn’t have it.Didn’t miss it because we didn’t know the difference.
Now if I knew I had to go without it,I’d slit my throat.

I grew up in mid Michigan and we never had AC. The climate was just different. In the summer it was 75-80 degrees but basically zero humidity. I’d never heard of dew point until I move to Louisiana. I had a head cold the first 4 months I was here. Crazy.

I grew up in Pennsylvania and didn't have air conditioning either. My parents had one window unit for their bedroom and if it got really hot, I'd sleep on their bedroom floor when I was little. I couldn't live without AC now.

Parallel to this, I was driving through Virginia a few weeks back and couldn't help but think that back in the day, that had to be by far the best location to live. Fairly mild summers and winters and humidity doesn't seem to be as nasty there as other places.

It would mean that you collected some very bad karma in this lifetime.
