I called YouTube TV because I had some questions, spoke with a robot voice the entire time and damned if it wasn’t more well spoken and intelligent than the average live customer support person. This won’t bode well for the folks in Hyderabad.
I worked on implementing an Amazon Connect system last year. It is intended for "customer experience" purposes. It is amazing how good those things are at conversational English.

Not the same, but when I am in my car, I can say order my usual coffee from Starbucks and take me there. It will confirm the order, pay for it using the card I have on file and drive me to the Starbucks. I probably use this more with chic-fil-a than Starbucks, but you get the drift.

I don't want a million apps for things as simple as ordering food.
Well enjoy paying more for the same food I guess.

AI ordering was surprisingly good. I dint like all the e tra suggestions it gave. However people still needed to make order and as usual got it wrong.

Taco Bell is mostly AI ordering now. It's great
I like to call the AI "hun" every time I finish. The culcha at the window don't ever seem to find the humor in it.

Having fast food apps on your phone screams obesity.

It's mostly in the south where you get the Lashawnda and Propecia attitude at the drive thru. Idaho, Montana, Washington you get hard working Hispanics that are genuinely happy to be working and are great service workers.

I've never had my order be wrong at God's Chicken and they aren't using AI, just hiring good, trainable workers.

If Starbucks goes AI, will the robots have kool-aid hair, piercings and tats? Will they be rude to boomers?

Yep. I prefer the AI. There is no attitude and it takes my order immediately.
Absolutely! Much easier to understand and pretty accurate as long as you don’t talk like mush mouth. No mumbling, no whispering, no attitude.

I just order in the app and say my order number when I get to the screen

Yes, it has helped cut down on idiots messing up the order.
Yeah, I haven’t had a bad experience with AI ordering. I think Taco Bell is the only ones doing it in large numbers, but I only go to TB, canes, or smoothie king.
