re: After working in Kenner and Metairie today, Baton Rouge is not so bad

I agree, Baton Rouge has the worst infrastructure setup I have ever seen. One little accident or breakdown on either lane on the interstate, the whole city is shut down.

I grew up in Laplace, spent a lot of time in Kenner/Metairie, now live in Ascension. Every time my wife and I have to go back that way we comment on how bad it is. I legit hate having to go.

Yep. I'm a Vintage to Power kind of guy myself. Loyola will be a shite show and I can't wait to see drivers freak out with the Diverging Diamond interchange.

Big Lee was downtown Old Metairie....the outer skirts of Old Metairie are much more desirable. Downtowns in every city sucks arse

This. I can usually keep moving.
Metairie has so many back roads. More east and west options. In br. You often have I go their choke points as they don't have many options to get around certain areas.

This is a thread about infrastructure and St Tammany is a shite show in that department

Parts of Metairie are very nice. Most of its sucks.
South Baton Rouge is okay except for the traffic. It’s a damn nightmare.
I got nothing good to say about Kenner.

LSU has shithole areas touching two sides, and bad areas in 5 miles proximity in the other two directions
5 miles is a pretty big area. Tony's seafood on plank road is 5 miles away. I wouldnt consider that area anywhere near LSU.
North of LSU is a complete mess though and tigerland.

Ya'll Dogging Kenner but 98% of the people in the thread couldn't afford a house in Chateau Estates, Gabriel, Place Pontchartrain, or South lake Village

Okay, two miles then. I don't have google maps up to look, but there are shite areas off of Acadian, College, Essen, Staring, Bluebonnet, and even Highland (at Gardere). Tigerland is a shithole, the area around State St is worse than ever, the apartment complexes many people stayed at on Burbank by Jennifer Jean have gone downhill, Jennifer Jean and that area are an extension of the rot in Tigerland.
That's all in proximity to campus, and if you're in this area daily (not just driving through and adding to traffic) you will interact with it.

Word. I live about a mile closer to Gardere and it's not even on my radar. Lsu students aren't going anywhere near Gardere
