I run the levee at lunch. Noticed the boat earlier this week. Will stop by tomorrow if he’s still there. MTF.

What is sad is that, as an animal foster, we've had our share of dogs, who the worthless surviving family wouldn't keep after the dog's owner passed away.
These dogs were taken to the animal shelter and asked to be put down.
We've fostered some as young as 4 or 5 years old that had been asked to put down after Grandpa died.

Tell him Pete from the internet says congrats.

He should thru hike the AT next. NOBO from Springer, GA in about 6 weeks. He could probably get all his gear free if he contacts TheTrek.Co and shares his story.

Someone needs to tell him to skip Venice and head to Port Eads if he wants the true end of the river

Im guessing that boat has no chance of making it back up river under its own power?

I guess it could be trucked out from Venice if it is worth anything.

Neat story and seems like a dude really making peace with his death. Also I agree if the dog dies it’s a damned dog, there’s not a shortage of em .

This would already be enough to make his life pretty rad compared to mine.

The dog is fickle. The bartender gave the dog a treat and the man teased her with it. She gets self-conscious... thinks it’s his treat, not hers. That’s the way Cheetos came up. He said he likes to eat them and that she likes them too, but if he’s eating them, she won’t eat one. She does like eating sausage for breakfast.

He’s still drinking and smoking like a champ. I think he’s enjoying this attention. The dog seems happy and well-fed. He supposedly has a CBS camera crew coming out in the next few days...
