No he removed his podcast bc the family contacted him after APD called the family and said it would jeopardize the case. Several months later Woody released it with the family’s permission. No name given but the cops were trying to say people would figure it out.

Shamekka Garnette disappeared from her home in Alexandria, Louisiana, on August 13, 2004. On August 17, just two days before her 21st birthday, Shamekka’s body was found in a ditch along Old Boyce Road, according to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office. Her murder has never been solved.

The cleverly named “Courtney Coco” episodes 1-6 plus the “pulled video”.
Season 2 for the majority of the videos. The pulled video is in season 3.

ETA: Just went and found the update where he explains what happens. It was posted the following day on Nov. 16, 2019. That’s exactly what happened, he stated the name and how he came to that conclusion, then Alexandra PD contacted Courtney’s mom and asked her to contact Woody to take it down, so she did and out of respect for her, he obliged. He promised to re-release it once an arrest is made..

He never mentions either of the two suspects by name in that episode.
Just calls them “suspect 1” and “suspect 2”.

Why the downvotes? I know nothing of this case so I am not sure what is meant by that statement. Why not just say what the cause of death was.
This memorial page offered some of the details apparently shared by her mother. Very sad....I hope these developments can give her family at least some measure of peace, eventually.

From listening to the podcasts it sounds like these "friends" were not the best group of people and it's likely Courtney was being set on a bad path. She probably wasn't as much an innocent girl as her mom thought in terms of drugs/alcohol. I also don't know the reason WHY this guy decided to kill her. What was his motive?
Eta: Its obvious the guy killed her, but I'm curious why he did it.

I’m guessing his friend is cooperating since he hasn’t been arrested.
I guess it’s more important to get the actual killer than the guy that was just an accessory.

Listening the episode. Is this Woody guy an ex cop?

That guy just looks like a thug. Sometimes stereotypes are spot on.

I knew no details of this case before reading this thread.
So I ask why the one cop was so quick to label this crackheads killing each other?
The picture painted for me until you said that, was of an attractive, smart, hard working college girl.
