I find this very hard to believe.

Killer Bees, sink holes, and the KKK were all things I thought were gonna get me 35 years ago.

Since like 1970s they have been in the US. They were brought in by scientist and crossed with European bees. Some escaped.

Actually, we eradicated them in the US thanks in part to the paranoia around them. The news was able to disseminate information on how your average person could help kill them. And kill them we did.

quote:

“I’ve gotta tell you, as an entomologist — I’ve been doing this for over 25 years now, and it is a rare day when the humans actually get to win one against the insects,” Sven Spichiger, pest program manager of the Washington State Department of Agriculture, told a virtual news conference.

Like murder hornets, we did something about that. It was something that could be a problem, but we changed some things we did and it got better.

I'm pro-quicksand in all areas except my house's foundation.

My friends and I all nearly lost our boots crossing the drained canal circa 1989. We were convinced we'd finally found quicksand

I heard the drones tried to charge them for extra honey so they threw propolis at the queen and trashed the hive.

They were collected at 3 am in a Waffle House, smelling like cheap arse skunk weed. Destroyed the place and didn’t leave a tip.

Why does the media always leave this part out?

Only one way to get rid of them. Trap them all on a VW Beetle and push it into the Superdome. Lower the temperature to below 50.

They finally got here. People were freaking out about the killer bees arriving when I was a kid back in the 70’s.
