B. The situation in Europe was completely different from tben in North America. There aren't. Earlynthe resources in North America that there are in Africa. It's the curse of Africa.
I remember I was reading a book about the Belium atrocities in the Congo. There was staring at the chopped off hands and feet of his daughter because he didn't meet the rubber quota

What's your rationalization about places like India and Brazil then?
You might be able to point fingers at imperialism to explain why a country is lagging behind.
But not to explain why a CONTINENT just flat out sucks and it seems like they aren't even trying to rise above anything.

I don't claim to be any kind of expert on Africa, but I bet individual groups within the continent banding together rather than raping and pillaging each other would go a long ways towards making it decent.
And perhaps maybe the people there like it the way it is. If that's the case, than more power to em.
