Black people in Baton Rouge more likely to stand on a street corner and openly smoke weed causing them to get arrested more often then smart blacks and white people

So possessing something federally illegal to possess is a minor offense? I would say jaywalking is a minor offense.
I think police should start checking off in the system other "offenses" people arent getting charged for, warrants, what plea deals were taken, etc.

Is it safe to say they live in neighborhoods that are patrolled by police more often?
Seems like a safe bet.

Baton Rouge citizens are more likely to be black than anything else.
Baton Rouge is 50% black, 37% white.

Black people also don’t hide it very well. They ride around and smoke and their cars reek of weed. So if they’re pulled over it’s obvious.
Most white kids will buy it then wait and smoke when they get home or to a friends house

I dont buy it either. I live in a neighborhood that's considered somewhat "upscale" in SBR. I live by tons of pot smokers. You would be surprised. White people love to get high as much as anyone and of course, they smoke better stuff.

I don't know but we're probably less likely to sit on the hood of our car and smoke blunts in the street.
There could be a ton of other reasons besides profiling to cause blacks to be arrested at a higher rate.

Let me get this straight.
So if an officer patrols north Baton Rouge and it happens to be a 99% black area, of black folks in this area are arrested, it’s automatically racist?

I would probably say more white folks smoke weed.

Not really. Probably has more to do with other factors associated with marijuana use. There's research indicating that blacks and whites purchase marijuana differently. Whites usually make the purchase from someone they know and in private settings, while blacks are more likely to purchase it from strangers and in public settings.

That is what I was thinking.
BUT, it was true at the time. So what?

Well let's be real. They are also more likely to be committing minor offenses

Being respectful to the cop goes a long way...Don't act like an a-hole. Don't carry a bunch of weed on you when you go out..I had friends do that and yes they got busted.. Take care of the damn warrants that are out for your arrest. Don't drive like an a-hole.. I know it's hard to do but don't bring attention to yourself.
