I just make a to-do list and clean up after myself.

I can find stuff until she organizes it.

Exact same situation with us. I have ADHD and she is OCD about the house being clean and organized, and also about paying the bills on time.
Best thing that ever happened to me!

Ignoring mail (bills) isn't accidental due to ADD. It's ignoring reality, and bills are the reality that absolutely cannot be ignored.
When paper bills were still the thing, I'd immediately open the envelope, write a check, stamp it, and write the date I needed to mail it in the top left corner, and stuck it in a $1.50 Office Depot vertical mail rack. I'd also enter the amount into the budgeting software, so the money was already mentally "gone."
Now, it's e-bills.
Sign up for e-bills, but make sure YOU are copied when statements are mailed and paid. There's a fair chance these will get "missed" too, because it's not about clutter. On my end, similar to paper bills, I will get the notification of the statement in email, and I will go make the payment or move the date up to the day the statement was issued just to get it done.
But I'm the guy that scans my bills, and an tell you what I paid for water and trash in June of 2014. But I forced myself to become that way precisely so I'd never be what your husband is, the, "I forgot," guy. It wasn't natural, but I didn't want to make excuses for myself.

ADHD isn’t real
If you have to take drugs to sit at a desk or whatever that’s a sign from God that you were meant to do manual labor
If you don't suffer from ADHD, it isn't real. It's a sign from God that you don't have it.

Here to take any notes as well. My wife is a flat surface queen, I can clear all the kitchen counters after dinner and those frickers will be cluttered right back up before morning
I have one of those too. Although mine has hit the next level where she waits until she finds something of mine in the middle of the clutter, then busts out the “WE” need to do better…

Are you sure he has ADHD or he's just messy
I’d ask him, but he went to bed at 4:30 am (leaving all the lights on) after staying up late buying stuff on line for his 12TH new hobby this year, of which half of that stuff will go unused/ half put together in a pile by the door to be “returned” later (but never really). We’ve had water shut off twice because he forgets to pay bills until I went to city hall to set up auto debit but he won’t let me manage bill payment because I will scrutinize impulse purchases. He sleeps maybe 3 hours a night and is up scrolling his phone, which never leaves his hand. He’s had the police called for a “loud party” by a neighbor. It was just him in the back yard on the phone. I haven’t finished a sentence in 30 years without being interrupted. Imagine Pee-Wee Herman on redbull. Anyone he has ever met in his life can attest he is ADHD level 10.

ADHD is definitely real, but like everything else now it's over-diagnosed and some use it as a crutch so they can take diet meth

Has he tried medication?

Once. When our son was diagnosed. Adderall knocked him out cold. Put him to sleep. He said he hated it and made him groggy.

Darling, the bills are in the cubby hole labeled “Bills” It’s a complicated system but it works for many.

medicating mental/brain issues is the greatest failure of the medical community in the history of civilization. The brain needs energy in the proper amount and in the proper way to function effectively. Figure that out (how to deliver it) and you’ll figure out the “ADHD”

My wife has us about 5 boxes away from being on an episode of Hoarders.

Only liberals believe in “mental illness”
Real Americans treat their kids adhd with a belt instead of a pill

My husbands method for “remembering” things is to leave stuff on counters, desks, surfaces, etc. the problem with this method is many layers build up and stuff on the bottom gets missed, goes unpaid.
bullshite, I know we're everything thing is and I dare you to find a late bill.

So you have a husband and a son with ADHD? Yikes.
