People have valid gripes against Landry. However, when he takes a hard stance against ferals murdering innocent people in a public place I’m behind him 100%. If he follows through with his statements today, I’d vote for him again just for that reason. Who tf wants to live in a zoo with no cages?

I dare say but if this happened before qualifying to run for DA, Hillar Moore might be looking at some stiff competition.

All a candidate would have to say is “I will pursue the max sentence on every case.”

But looks like we will have him for another SIX years.

The guy that’s announced he’s running against him is super “woke” and knowing EBR he’ll have a good chance to win. Hiller isn’t perfect but I fear whoever replaces him will be terrible

Gary Chambers is backing him. That's all I need to know.

quote:

Baton Rouge, we have the opportunity to elect a good man District Attorney of East Baton Rouge Parish — @ryankeiththompson. He’s a gentleman and a scholar. More importantly, he’s an independent minister of justice.
I’ve watched Ryan take cases people in Baton Rouge were afraid to touch — and win. I’ve watched him stand up for our children with the same passion he fights for his own.
When an elderly Black man, Mr. Danny Buckley, was killed by a 23-year-old white man, Jace Boyd, in the Trader Joe’s parking lot, Ryan and I helped carry Mr. Buckley to his grave. We sat in court when the current DA’s office did such a poor job that the killer got 18 months.
When police strip-searched Black grandmothers and children, Ryan took up that case against bad cops terrorizing our communities. We are not safer from bad policing — it makes us less safe.
In 2016, when you saw me in the streets protesting the unjust killing of Alton Sterling, Ryan was there every night. He holds a degree in criminal justice, a master’s in public health, and a JD from @southernu_lawcenter.
Our current DA has been in office since 2009, and Baton Rouge has had the deadliest years on record under his leadership. He hasn’t made our communities safer and has never been challenged — partly because too many attorneys feared retaliation or were too loyal to break ranks, even knowing our parish deserves better.
Other people may find courage now, because splitting the Black vote is always the goal. Remember who stood up in this generation, in this day and time, against all we face today.
The newspaper put my name in the story as a way to make Ryan look radical. Demanding justice from an unjust system isn’t radical — it’s offensive that anyone would suggest otherwise. I want you to see the way things will happen up front.

Throwing the race card out hot and heavy is a sure sign of a loser. Sounds like he plans to keep the victim mentality firmly planted and coddle criminals.
Will black voters be presented with a better candidate?

Has Gravy mentioned anything about the thug killing the white teen girl? I looked on his DB and didn’t see anything. Probably looking for a way to spin it

I was waiting for the “ 13” to start crying racism when he said “ we got to lock those people up” I’m sure they probably took it that way

I’ve tried to steer clear from this thread today.
Hard time sleeping last night with the thoughts of that young girl and her family.
And then to see an actual picture of the girl was heartbreaking.

I pray for Louisiana. It’s where I grew up and still feels like home.

Oddly enough the comments were supportive of Landry's comments regardless of how the profile pics looked. About time the good stopped shilling for the bad.

This shite is a powder keg. Vigilante justice is coming sooner than later and it’s warranted.

Never forget college educated white women gave us all this for social media likes and yard signs.

Not all of us! I'm past ready for the vigilante justice, quick public executions, something!

We want and deserve a civil society.
