Hell it’s more like 3% when it comes to shootings. 15 to 40 aged black males.

Black females have a higher murder rate than white males.

Reddit in general doesn’t like when you post something against the “consensus”, which is to the left of Stalin on anything political.

I wonder what BR would be like if Katrina never happened. Were we already on this trajectory before that?

Yes. But it was accelerated by it.

I don't think anything accelerated violent crime faster than the deluge of opioids in the early 2000s. Even with the prescribing physicians in check, the thirst is out there and now we have fentanyl. Drugs finance these gang lifestyles. They aren't out there painting rail cars and break dancing.

I realize that but it was mostly contained in places law abiding citizens didn’t go unless you worked in a plant, which are normally safe from bullshite like this.

I’d say there was a ghetto pre-Katrina and that it metastasized into other parts of the city due to every property available being snapped up all at once.

Didn’t Top Golf parking lot have a shoot out a few weeks ago?

Maybe but I generally go around lunch time. They are probably still sleeping at that point of the day

Crime in Baton Rouge was contained back in the day. It started with Katrina and then Barack Hussein Obama destroyed America’s suburbs.

BR’s decline was not accelerated by Katrina

North Baton Rouge was a hell hole by the early 90s. With mandated section 8 housing and the ease of obtaining government benefits - it was inevitable.

Having Southern university where teaching degrees are handed out and those teachers get paid pretty well in the public school system and are able to buy houses in good areas through ‘programs’ - it was inevitable

Same thing with working for city/parish or any of the plants. DEI ruined the country.

Don't forget to credit the Honorable John Parker. He did as much to frick a few generations in Baton Rouges as any ten men.

I don’t live in BR, but if you think anywhere is safe from this I have bad news.

You’re right, but you can play the percentages and assume a place like Abilene, TX will have a safer mall.
