I’m sure the students felt safe as they were hunkered down in locked classrooms with no way to defend themselves.
If I were any of those students, I would have gotten the frick out of there as soon as possible. If I can’t carry on campus, then frick the lockdown rule. I should have the right to leave whenever I want and not have to be crammed in a locked lecture hall with 150 other people and petrified that the shooter might break in.

A friend that works at UNLV said 11 dead then like 20 minutes later another coworker got an update to 19 but he’s an idiot so his source may be an idiot too.
The news was reporting 2 people burst into a classroom shooting but the press conference just referenced 1 shooter and said there’s no more active threat. So I don’t know what to believe

With the Austin shootings yesterday maybe they didn’t piece all of them together until over night as after looking more it seems stories posted today.
With the UNLV there were some reports at the union as well. I wonder if just echo and panic or if shooter committed suicide there.

In classrooms these students are sitting ducks if doors left unlocked for late students. Even if a constitutional amendment passed today limiting certain guns the bell for the availability of guns has been rung. Campuses need to implement some really restrictive license to carry on campus with multiple checks a year on mental health (part of license for campus) that would allow for more immediate self defense than run-hide-fight. I am assuming a restrictive license for campus is legal as banning guns on campus seems to be legal even if not followed by psychos.

This happens at virtually all mass shootings and 99% of the time it's due to media listening to police scanners.
Police will always put out radio traffic about searching for additional shooters since they don't know if there are multiple shooters at first.
Media hears it and starts reporting "multiple shooters believed to be involved."

And it is the same thing every single time. Usually it is one shooter, sometimes it is no shooter at all, like with the OU mass shooting that wasn't. "Reports" ran wild with that one.

The freeway is shut down for about 6 miles for emergency vehicles and it’s about 2 miles west of UNLV so if they’re shutting the whole thing down that leads me to believe there’s a lot of victims
