What is LinkedIn? Is that a Government database?
It's like Facebook for car salesmen and realtors

Since being bought out by Microsoft, LinkedIn has pretty much gone to crap. You would have think Facebook bought the site out based on it's layout. You should see some of the crap that pops up on job search - car hop at Sonic, retail worker at DSW shoes, uber application etc...

I care. It's a hassle finding and training people. It's also expensive. I think most employees care, too.

I've had 4 jobs since august, 2013. I work in aviation though and there is a massive pilot shortage, especially on the corporate/charter side and the wages are sky rocketing.

Damn that's nuts. Same job since 2008 for me

LinkedIn tracks jobs titles, not so much employers.
So if you go from Assistant Fry Cook to Lead Fry Cook you've changed jobs.

Hard to say no when they offer 20% more.
It absolutely is, but you can only burn so many bridges before you get stuck.

If you are highly sought after, you jump a bit until you hit the money pot.
Every move Is usually a better company with more pay until you get on with one of the 4-5 industry leaders. Then you stay put.
(At least in my business)

Good point.

LinkedIn is a job finding network source. Of course they will skew data to appear, or make it seem normal, to job hop a lot.
Are there plenty of 8 month at a job folks? Sure, but that's not average, unless you are counting high schoolers and summer jobs.

Were you constantly applying to other jobs or did they come to you?

What jobs did they use to come up with this? 8 months seems like a lot of job switching. Does this imply the average person has worked 30+ jobs by the time they retire?

If the company you're working for only responds to threats wouldn't it be in your best interest to leave anyway?

A) Post a link, because that number is not accurate.
B) The average is around 4 years, 3 specifically for millennials.

Even in a specific position within a company, that's short.
Even my internship lasted longer than that.

Both, I float my resume with updated skills every few months to gauge market value. We had a good thread yesterday about loyalty, and these days companies will let go of you at will so good to always have a backup.

Add O&G sales to that list too.
