About to start shopping for new car insurance.. who do you guys recommend?

They don't tow you for being uninsured anymore, so I recommend that for your cheapest option.

I've had State Farm for over 30 yrs; I have a no cancellation policy and $100 deductible on collision....grandfathered in stuff

I'm in the collision repair industry and deal with insurance companies on a daily basis. In this area(Baton Rouge) atleast, hands down, Farm Bureau is the best insurance company from a customer service stand point. Everyone you deal with are local and actually care about the customer, rather than just saving as much money as they can. Rates wise, I think they are pretty comparable.

USAA is also awesome, but you have to have an affiliation with the military to get insurance through them.
