USAA is the gold standard if you're eligible. You have to be a military vet or active duty.

Farmers, state farm are both high as hell right now and will be for a while.
hell my own state farm agent didn't blame me at all when I went with one of the national guys (geico, etc)

Maybe they have changed their policy, but I have a close friend who uses USAA. Neither him or his wife were in the military, but her parents were both career military. Her parents have passed but they still get to use USAA.

Try American National. Been with them 25 years. Have my house, cars and Life Insurance with them.

Certain children of military qualify too. I am hoping I can pass down to grandchildren too.

Dependents of members are eligible. My grandparents were in the service, my parents were not but I am a member.
Rates are several points higher than progressive, esurance, etc, but service is top notch.
