Just did Boston for a long weekend for under $1000 (stayed with a friend who lives there).

Have been averaging 2-3 bachelor party trips per year and those are usually in the $1000 range.

Me too. I wish the US had Europe or Australia's vacation policies.. 6 weeks off.

I only have 2 weeks and it's not enough.

Already planning a 9 day trip to Italy and Greece next year. Technically 7 days with travel time. Thinking about just making it 1 country.

Around $10k on a big one then a smaller one later for around $3k. I get one free international flight per year.

Varies every year.

This past year being back in school has limited being able to take real vacations. Only traveling lately has been to see family in LA and quick weekend trips (Vegas to see friends, Flagstaff just to get away, etc). Also will be traveling back to LA next month to help my family relocate to AZ (they are paying for the moving truck and their airfare to AZ, I'm paying the rest). Once I graduate from school and get my family settled here in AZ I want to plan a proper vacation somewhere as a graduation present to myself and a late anniversary trip.

Nine days isn't enough to do both IMO. I spent two weeks in Italy last summer and barely scratched the surface of places I wanted to experience.

Probably $0 this next year

This.

Some of mine is underwritten through work, but always five figures per year out of pocket for the last couple of decades.

Since I'm in the military, and both the wife and I are from New Orleans, we visit home at least a couple times a year. We usually take 2 vacations a year on top of that. So we spend anywhere from $6k to $10k a year on vacations, depending on the locations that year.

ARe you including visits to family out of state staying at a hotel for a week during X-Mas and also hotel for Mardi Gras? Or just traditional summer or whenever vacation(s)? If you are including all of that, I don't even want to add it up

Not takin a shot at you but some people have kids and that takes a lot of planning whether you take them with you or not. It can be very stressful either way. Also, some people like myself have take our work with us and it's very hard to disconnect from the office. I can go a day or so with no contact with the office but i have to stay on top of emails and and messages the entire time.

I still love to travel and we do very frequently, but it can be a pain in the arse.

ETA: as the kids get older it will become much easier.
