It's not really Iran's military that is set up and hidden all along the strait ready to fire on anything that passes.

This will never be over until the regime is overthrown.

We didn’t target the regular army command thinking they would do the job for us. Time to start taking them out too.

We're on the brink of some severe global economic pain right now with just the SOH being closed.

Nuking Iran, and all that would flow from that, would severely disrupt all sorts of crucial global commodities (oil, fertilizer, etc.)

Iran closes the strait then we have a global depression.

We completely level their country and take absolute control of the strait, also global depression.

We would make a new strait!!

The Trump Strait. Beautiful new strait.

Need to see if people are buying along a certain path in Iran for future development.

You're making a lot of crucial assumptions there to ignore the reality of the fallout

Honestly, once you solve the cost disparity issue between bomb laden low-cost drones and the defense mechanisms to counter them then the strait issue becomes easier to solve. Using multi-million dollar missiles to counter drones dispatched by the hundreds at a fraction of the price isn't sustainable. Honestly, countering missile strikes on vessels are probably easier as you can pre-emptively knock out production and launch sites and they're much more expensive to produce.

Histrionics aside. I'm genuinely curious on how you would effectively hold the strait open beyond bribing them with a 300bn bailout fund.

Amazing it was open for almost all of history until earlier this year.

Maybe leave and admit it was a wrong move.

And yeah, you will probably have to give them a lot of money as an apology.
