Flat tire late on a dark night in a desolate location - damn right. True experience!

Pretty good hotel discount rates at some places

Depends on how old is your car.

If you have any family who does a lot of traveling, yes it's worth it.
Plus you can get some discounts at other places (I get 5% off shipping and supplies at UPS Store)

You may already have the roadside services with your current auto insurance policy. Hotel discounts are pretty good if you stay overnight often.

Yeah you don't need to be a member to get that rate

I have it and used it the other day when I blew out my tire. Yes, changing tires on the side of the road is for the birds.

Just shopped this recently for our kid driving an older truck off at school. Decided to go w USAA tow/roadside assistance instead for approx $2 /month. The few times we've used it ourselves over the years the service was great but only covers 15 miles or so. If you're traveling long distances AAA may be best option.

I did not realize you were Jewish. I bet you would sell an organ, wouldn't you?

Yes! I took the deluxe package (included 200+ mile wrecker service). Sure enough my wife's vehicle breaks down on the road. Minor stuff. Anyway, they hauled that vehicle 225 miles to a repair shop. That trip more than paid for the service that year, let me tell ya. My wife was relieved, and so was I.

AAA is too cheap not to have, I will never change a flat tire on the side of the interstate with 18 wheelers passing 4 feet from me.

I think you can use their services even if you are a passenger in a non-member’s vehicle that needs assistance. I’m sure somebody will chime in if this is incorrect.

i've had to use the free tow up to 100 miles a few times in the last 14 years.
my grandpa would say yes. i would say no- i've just used my family's account when needed.
a lot of credit cards offer tow service: amex, capital one, discover.
it depends on what your insurance offers or what other offers you get though other companies like credit cards.
i know how to change my own tires, so it's never worried me.
i don't have a spare now in my newest car, but i have 'run flats.'
my opinion might change if i blow out with these thin things i'm driving on now.
pop-a-lock charges $80+ to open your car.

I have it. I used to use it for their trip maps before GPS.
