Do your weekly certification of benefits today, you’ll get paid tomorrow.

Those unemployed.
It's not your fault.
Don't beat yourselves up.
Things will get better.

But will the 600 also come with the 235?
Posted on 4/5/20 at 6:29 pm to GeauxtigersMs36
847 bucks in Louisiana
Posted on 4/5/20 at 6:34 pm to Thunder
Has anyone gotten the extra 600? Do you sign up for it or they give it with your unemployment?

That fed money is still a ways off. Doubt anyone sees it this week.

Trust me I know, my wife has been helping people since 9 this morning to make sure the those people’s information is in the system and they receive the benefits. I don’t know what happened in other states but the unemployment system in Louisiana was not prepared today.

Will they back pay it or start when they are ready?
Posted on 4/5/20 at 6:44 pm to GeauxtigersMs36
Back pay to the 29th I believe.
Programmers are trying too implement that before any ther changes. They tell me it's the easiest fix. Self employment and such might still be weeks out. We are still a little fuzzy on it as the guidelines are confusing.

I got furloughed two weeks ago. I tried filing four days in a row and the website kept crashing. So filled the paperwork out today and put it in the mail. So hopefully it hits soon. Luckily we were broke so we can survive for a few months if needed

This is 100% correct and also 100% goes against the OT’s stance on unemployment for as long as this place has existed.

Gotta disagree.
Most OT I believe aren't against unemployment. But, we all know ppl constantly on that shite.
Many(not all) people exploit it during normal times, even the 08' recession.
This is different. Can't just apply for a new job.
Can't change careers.
Can't get 2 shitty jobs to get through rough patch.
There is literally zero people can do aside from maybe grocery store employment?
My location is hiring 2 ppl. Guess what? That's put on hold indefinitely.
The chaos our government unleashed upon us is unheard of ever in history.

UI is an insurance program.
The enhanced version is a welfare program. However, it's the fault of government that people are unemployed right now.
Unfortunately this will not hurt government, it will hurt the taxpayer and the elected officials who put them out of work will be hailed as heros.

And the millions of businesses that will go bankrupt.

Correct.
And as long as the government is enhancing UI, these businesses will be unable to find workers because they'll make more on UI than they will while working.
