If the rate stays constant, in 100 years, this "ocean" will be over 2 feet wide. I guess that would be more of a bay or channel, through right?
I’d be interested to see what happens. A rush of water from the Arabian or mediterranean Sea would erode banks and sand and likely create a wider waterway. But then again, it may just soak up all the dry sand and create a gigantic pit of quicksand that we were all worried about as kids.

If Somalia sunk to the bottom of the ocean that would be a net gain for humanity. An absolute shithole country that contributes nothing

We’re gonna need the polar ice caps to melt and fill up the new ocean lest we get disastrous sea level fall.

Nations like Zambia and Uganda will have their own coastlines.
If you’ll buy that, I’ll throw the Golden Gate in free.

If you are 30, and keep yourself in shape to walk, you should be able to step over it fairly easily when you are 100. you may want to keep a 3' bridge handy if you intend to live to 125.

Is this where the internet acts like the Great Rift Valley is a new thing because it's the first time they've heard about it?

I guess Namor didn't learn his lesson and decided to attack Wakanda again

Even parts of Africa don’t want to be in Africa

I felt learn about this back in high school over 20 years ago that we knew the Red Sea was going to be the next ocean.

Will it rift or will it founder? That is the question.
Will it go the way of the Rio Grande Rift valley in New Mexico? Will it follow the rift-steps of the New Madrid fault system and the rift going up to Michigan and other arm going along the Ohio river and the seismic activity that doesn't go away.
There's lots of fun to play what if, if the IF is going to be obyious in a million or so years in the future.
