Who in the world thought these rules would be a good thing to do?

They implemented that rule a few years ago, before that it was unlimited number of hold backs. They limited the number to reign in the abuse that was taking place when you had entire rosters of hold backs.

I was shocked at how many kids were getting held back and personally believe most of hold backs evolved to match the baseball cut off. I was shocked when putting my roster with birth dates into spreadsheet and realizing my son who was born in Jan was one of the youngest kids on the team. I can assure you none of the kids on that team were held back for athletics.

Are all kids born after May playing with the grade level below them? No. All I'm saying is any kid with a birthday between May and August could play a grade level down.

Very few are playing back because the majority of the boys born late Mar to Aug are being held back by their parents. Its gotten so bad at our school that administration is stepping in and no longer allowing hold backs in pre K because there wasn't any room for the next class.

Which would also stop if you got rid of grade level exemptions. Kids should play with kids their own age. Just because Jax from Amite’s dad held his son back because he couldn’t hang with kids his age and could dominate kids that aren’t as developed as him doesn’t mean it is right.

7 pages of dads arguing over holding little Johnny back so he can dominate 12 year old baseball makes me very glad I don't have a son.

You guys need to get a life

And that kid is pull be in the 8th grade unless he was a hold back. Again, stop with the bs. Hold back your kids in school is fine but play their age. It’s for parents who live through their kids. A bunch of losers who didn’t make it and are trying hard through their kids
