I have no doubt the motorcycle guys were douches. Thinking you can do what you want because your on a bike bothers me. So many speed their asses off. However, it was wrong to swerve. I don't feel bad for the motorcycle guy either tho. Plays stupid games win stupid prizes. Same applies to the old man if he gets charged. The bird would have been enough for me and what I would have done.

Bikers driving like that put other drivers needlessly at risk. What would've been the response had an oncoming car crested the hill and swerved into the other lane to avoid the biker crashing head on into the old man?

It doesn't really bother me that other drivers break traffic laws. What bothers me is how their actions can cause unsafe reactions from other drivers which can then affect me.

I can't believe this thread is this long. The biker shouldn't have passed, the hill obstructs the view of oncoming vehicles. The old man shouldn't have hit the biker.

a-hole driver of the year award by Golfer
I had a guy on a bike pass me on a double yellow without a helmet and wearing sandals while i was trying to make a legal left turn into a driveway.

He's lucky he's still alive. Biker even tried to blame the accident on me.

This happened to my neighbor in front of my house and the bike was doing over 100 mph in a 30 mph residential neighborhood and the rider died. His family sued and won. Guy lost everything including his family. Damn shame.

Somehow, I think there is more to that story than what you are telling us.

Rider comes down my street at 100 mph- tries to pass pickup truck, pickup makes left turn onto street - bike and rider hits left front fender of truck at 100 mph, rider rips through hood of truck, lands in my front yard, my mother covered him in a quilt her great grandmother sewed in the 1850's because driver is in shock, stranger driving from opposite direction kneels and starts saying Hail Mary's at his side, fecal matter all over rider because he lost his bowels on impact, gym shorts, t shirt, flip flops, no helmet, blood all over the grass, dies before paramedics arrive, riders family sues pickup driver and wins because he "should have seen driver passing", driver loses everything including family and four years later eats the end of a 12 gauge Model 12 that was given to him by his grandfather. I lost a good friend.

Enough of the story for you dumbass? Want me to mention that the grass where he bled and died was a much darker shade of green throughout the rest of that summer? It was.

They took his family away? Damn.

Actually, that sounds like a sad situation. Sorry anyone would have to go through that.

If the motorcyclist had been obeying the law this would have never happened. I personally wouldn't swerve but that guy was riding like an arse hole.

One guy should not have broken s traffic law. One guy should not have used his car as a deadly weapon. I think those are really two completely different types of wrong.

I lost my best friend in a bike accident. Some kid turned out in front of him and of course my friend was speeding on West Napoleon. It's been almost ten years and I still think about him all the time. It's weird how life just goes on, every girl he dated is married and has kids, we all moved on, families and such. It's just so odd that someone I known since I was five, has been gone so long. It never really gets easy.

So I guess I am more emotional in biker threads because of it. I can say my friend's reckless driving probably caused his death, but it does not make things any easier. Bikers need to be cautious, but drivers need to also be on the lookout for bikers and cyclist around them. Sad your friend was sued. That sucks, at that speed it's hard to fault your friend.

As long as you keep his memory with you he is never fully gone.

I increased the goal price because instead of being in the hospital for a couple days and out of work for a week or two, we are going to be in the hospital for a couple of weeks and out of work for months! I cannot believe the negativity from people that make assumptions like they know something! Figure out thw facts before you make yourself look ignorant in front of the entire world!

As most of my close friends know, me and my girl were hit by a car on PURPOSE! We both are going to be out of work for a while and have 3 teenage kids in the house! I am trying tk whatever i possibly can to help support her and her kids during this time and am going to get an attorney to sue the man that hit us, but am looking at losing our apartment and everything we own, and being stuck on the streets homeless because of this! Any help at all will be greatly appreciated, as well as any prayers! I hate asking for help and never do, but being in the situation that we are now in, i have no options! God bless you all amd thank you in advanve!

I understand being in the hospital, but he can't work AT ALL?

He seems to be walking in this video.

People break driving laws all the time.

Why does one care if somebody wants to get past you?

I'm not going to slow down if someone wants to get by, but i'm not going to speed up to prevent them from passing...they just better go fast enough.
