Vehicular assault, motorcyclist can pass on double yellow if he wants to it is his risk however taking the law into your own hands with your vehicle is assault. Ole man is gonna get charged and sued. Secondly why was no one beating that ole mans arse?

No, there's a video of the guy in the car making a legal left turn and stopping when he spots the biker illegally passing and about to get creamed.

See how that works?

That's basically murder/attempted murder.

Not so fast. The driver of the white car could have swerved to miss something he saw on the road.

I didn't see any blinker. Also the angle and possible speed that he was making that turn is suspect.

The overuse of the Social Justice Warrior phrase is out of control. It literally has nothing to do with this video.
Agree 100%. It's the new cool term to use.

In most states you can not cross a double yellow line to pass another vehicle.

Did you know the justice system operates on PHYSICAL EVIDENCE?

Motorcycle

-Excessive speed
-Illegal Passing
-Impact with motor vehicle from BEHIND

Old Man Driver

Oh, wait. I had no idea I was discussing this with a child. Great points, with really solid reasoning. Maybe soon you can join the adults table and discuss real things with real men.

Also, "prolly" isn't a word big guy. If you had finished your high school GED, you might have learned that.

If you're capable of reading, please educate yourself with these links sir.

LINK

quote:

Rear-End Collisions
If someone hits you from behind, it is virtually never your fault, regardless of why you stopped. A basic rule of the road requires a vehicle to be able to stop safely if traffic is stopped ahead of it. If it cannot stop safely, the driver is not driving as safely as the person in front.

LINK

quote:

Rear-end collisions are one of the most prevalent auto accident types. If a driver's vehicle is struck from behind by another vehicle, the resulting accident is nearly always the striking driver's fault. This holds true regardless of the reason for the first driver's stop or slow down. Why?

Because basic traffic laws mandate a driver must be able to come to a safe stop if the vehicle(s) ahead stops or slows down. Incidentally, this traffic rule also governs sudden stops. If the subsequent driver cannot come to a safe stop, chances are he or she is not driving in a safe manner and probably not as safely as the driver in front of him or her.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't both parties involved cross a double yellow line?

It isn't illegal to accidentally cross the yellow line. Whats illegal is PASSING.

I said it was his risk, as in he takes the risk for citation or crash.

Purposefully using your vehicle to take someone out is assault. Where was the man turning? into that field?

Is that why the old man kept saying he didn't care? He didn't hit his brakes and wasn't driving at a speed to indicate he was turning.
Neither of you are going to convince anyone with half a brain that the old man didn't swerve at the motorcycle on purpose. He may not have intended to hit the people on the motorcycle but hey, drunk drivers don't intend on killing people either.

I love the reasoning of people on here sometimes ie: break the law and flash a cop your brights you deserve to get shot, cross a double yellow at high speed and you deserve to be assaulted with a 1600lb mass of metal. Run from police you deserve to be shot in the back hahahah wtf

Motorcyclists are the biggest bastards on this. The old man likely had no fricking idea he was going to hit the guy that hard.

Bicyclists on roads are pretty fricking annoying too, but I still made an effort not to run over the 8 year old girl that was riding her own bicycle on Acadian yesterday because her fricktard parents thought someone without a driver's license should be riding their bikes on a busy road on one of the worst days of the year.

You don't get to kill people for your own justice boner. I swear.. shite like this makes me never want to get on the road again.
