Why not?
There a quite a few of these young men who do committ suicide. I hope that didn't happen but it's a possibility and an issue that needs to be better addressed

Yea, JBE attended the funeral but refused to let it become a publicity stunt, and kept it under wraps. Total respect for the Soldier and his family.

RIP battle! I served with a small group for most of my service and we were as close as anyone can be. Out of my platoon of 30 counting our medic and mechanic 2 didn’t come back with multiple of us receiving Purple Hearts. Three have atemtpted suicide with one being successful. Me and one other buddy are the only guys to not get divorced and I think the only thing that saved me from possibly doing something to myself and for sure saved my marriage was my daughter and her diagnosis/ battle with cancer. I hate stories like this.

Politics have decayed into an us vs them mentality where the other side is always viewed as evil. It's a shame that we treat and diminish our community due to bullshite.

I run on a team that supports St Jude's. Idk where your daughter was treated but there are some awesome people all over taking good care of these kids. So glad she's good!!!

After seeing the BS they have to put up with to get treatment at the VA, it's no wonder to me why some veterans have mental issues. To serve your country and have to put up with that kind of crap.........just pitiful.

Can't disagree with that.
I said earlier I didn't care how he died. What I meant was I didn't know how he died and didn't care as I didn't want suicide or anything else to take away from his sacrifice and service to our country.

Rest easy.
It should be noted that he earned the coveted combat star on his jump wings, which means he made a jump into a combat zone. That is extremely rare, I only met one soldier in my five years with a star on his wings. Way too early for this young American hero to go.

I was a Paratrooper stationed at Bragg for 3 years and I don't think I ever saw a set of jump wings with a star.
He would have made the jump into northern Iraq. That was a 173rd mission.
