Isn't Homer Hickam the main character from that movie October Sky?
Not a character. He is a real person about whom the movie was made. FWIW, the article says they “apologized to each other” (?) and he is “working to get her a better job at NASA.” frick that.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

What am I missing here ? Why should he have to apologize to her for anything ? She comes off as some snarky little punk, he calls her out and he apologizes.
Don’t get it.

Twitter users thus chided Naomi for her lack of space knowledge. But they also accused Hickam of pulling rank and robbing a young woman of a great opportunity because of one stupid tweet.
This power shifting is one thing fricking our country up. Who gives a frick what “twitter users” think?

How the hell are you smart enough to get a job at NASA and then not know who Homer Hickam is?
Posted on 8/22/18 at 6:53 am to Dam Guide
Because standards have been lowered to make women and minorities feel better about themselves.

These strange people have conventions. I wonder what kind of psychological disorder is behind this.

Because engineering knowledge and personnel knowledge can be independent of one another. Is that a serious question?

That explains a lot.
Saw the billboard for it this year and thought of that Entourage episode where Johnny meets the girl that’s into those costumes.

Now, if a teacher has a group of students called the “Rocket Boys” it means something completely different.
