1. Those are two different colors.

2. One appears to be on a left wrist and the other a right.

Really a poor comparison.

Have a pleasant evening Scoober.

I'd venture to say that the longer a person is into watches, the more appeal Rolex will have.

The sub appeals to me now more than ever. I'd love to have one.

That said I know I have no business wearing one. I have a 4 year old marathon on now that looks like somebody attacked it with a chipping gun. Crystal is chipped, bezel has no numbers left, case is gouged, etc..

I'd be heartbroken if I beat my 8k dollar watch to death like this one

You actually said a lot smaller.

I get your point. Hence the joke about the sun dial.

If 44 looks a lot smaller than you expected. Then you are looking at a something 55 to be what you expected. A sundial.

Cheers.

I had that version a couple years ago, black rubber strap, black dial. It’s a thick watch but it wears well imo. I lost big when I sold it.

I bought a 1k Bucherer when I was 14.
My daily is a sd43 Rolex that I bought locally.
Btw, the omega in your pic is a good looking piece, I would wear it.

22 or 23.

What brand/model is your daily wear watch?

Whatever is up in the queue (I go by column daily) unless I am going to be doing something the particular watch doesn't work for, no divers in a tux and no Pateks or Lange etc dress watches when I am swimming.

I buy mainly from a few brokers outside of trades.

The SM is a nice piece though I prefer the Planet Ocean line. I always suggest people buy what they like if you spend real money on a watch you want to smile when you look at your wrist, whether or not the cognoscenti think it is a "good" watch or whether it is one that is considered to be good at value retention. I started buying manual wind Rolex Daytonas when I was young because I liked them AND because few "watch people" thought much of them at the time, so they were cheap. Turned out 20 years later the value of manual wind Daytonas exploded and continue to break auction house records. In the watch world it is often the ugly, forgotten, and unloved when new that later gets the collector's juices flowing unwanted then becomes scarcity later.

I just saw that a ceramic Daytona went for 30k at a Christie auction in June! No celebrity owned it, just a normal black dial Daytona...

How large do these things have to be, really. I mean, is the next 'thing' going to be trying a grandfather clock to your arm?...

We had this discussion in the thread. The camera/wrist angle is deceiving.

I believe this is an older 1mm smaller model but it looks tiny in comparison to the OP.

My 9300 planet ocean chrono came with the metal strap and it fit perfect on the wrist. After about 6 months I ordered the omega rubber strap and liked it even more. The fit and quality is great, you can't go wrong with either one imo.

Those are not the same size watches or models.

The watch on bottom is a good bit older than the watch on top. The bottom watch was probably pre 1998. You can tell because they were still using tritium on the dial.
The watch on top uses Super Luminova.

Anybody know about the Vincero watches that Bongino is advertising? How do they compare to Citizen or Seiko or Invicta? Seem to be in the same price range.

Props given for the 55 day thread bump.

Go Grand Seiko that you like and you won’t be sorry.
