If I were OP I'd go for gray market Omega but I'd get a Speedmaster.
OP happens to be a diver... so the Seamaster makes more sense.

Some of the gents I play poker against have same very nice watches.

And one of nicest guys has SEVEN Patek’s Wild. I knew he had serious cash when I saw his gold Hermes belt, 17k. Lol

There is something really wrong with you if you think that is gaudy.
Posted on 7/5/19 at 4:41 pm to stout
Size plays a big role in gaudy. 42-45mm case is a lot smaller than I expected.
These watch models must have tiny wrists.

Size isn’t gaudy.
Gaudy means really bright/showy.
42-45: Are you trying to wear a sundial?

Since the OP likes the Omega SM, you must like dive watches. If so, go to the link above- it's the most comprehensive site of dive watches I have come across. Has reviews, pictures, articles, and links of just about any reputable watch brand known. You can surf to get an idea of what's out there. I doubt you will know of 95% of the brands.
IMO, the best bang for the buck is Steinhart.
My grail is an Eterna KonTiki Diver 44.

You don’t get to redefine words.
The word you are looking for is ostentatious, perhaps.

Bought my Rolex after Katrina from a guy who needed money.fast. It was a once in a lifetime deal.

It’s a synonym, not a definition.
Quit being so pretentious. Let’s talk watches.

Do you purchase online or in-store?
- I have a couple guys on-line that I use. Stores generally won’t cut you a deal.

Who are the reputable local stores?
- I live in Jackson MS and there is only one true trained Swiss watchmaker here, Jacques Sollberger. He is the only guy in town I trust.

Gaudy has a specific definition. Sorry.
Nothing pretentious. I’m not trying to impress anybody.

Thank goodness, otherwise you would have failed miserably. Now if you don't have anything to contribute about watches why don't you go into another thread, you gas head.

I have a 50MM Breitling
But it is a limited edition I picked up on a whim in Vegas one day
Here it is next to my 44MM Avenger Blackbird

I don't have a picture of it on but I will grab one next time I wear it. It doesn't look too bad IMO.

That is a large case but not gaudy imo.
When I think gaudy watch I picture one worn with these sunglasses.

Your hair is shorter than I thought.

I didn’t mean to imply that one couldn’t wear larger or that one shouldn’t.
It was the fact that 42-44 seemed really small to him.

Not a luxury melt.
Kinda Orient Bambino.
Work harder.
