Yeah but the majority of the posts in EV threads are bashing EVs and technology in particular instead of about the government pushing the tech at the taxpayer expense.

I don’t agree with you on that, but at this point that should be implicit in any criticism.

Look at lease and purchase prices for these vehicles. They continue to drop despite incentives also dropping. Trust the market.

I’m all for capitalism, but $56b is a bit absurd.

Stock options at the 2018 valuation. It isn’t just direct payment.

So is musk stupid, evil or both, in your opinion?

I think he stands the most to gain from EV adoption out of any person or even small group of people in the entire world.

Musk wants an EV only future? Where did you see that?

Umm yes.

He’s said that, at best, gas powered vehicles would be niche, and compared it to riding a horse or using a flip phone.

He said recently that electric autonomous cars will be the only thing that matters.

That he got on the stand and said the money is for getting humanity to Mars just makes me laugh out loud for real.

So?

You think he doesn’t believe it? He’s selling a lie?

I think he is selling. I think his motivation is transparent. Those I would consider evil do not have such transparent motivations. And those that can’t understand that, or the distinction between the two, are stupid.

You are misrepresenting his comments and inserting your own ideology by claiming this is "wanting an EV only future."

So I take it you support an “EV only future”

What is your motivation? Are you evil or stupid?

And he is getting his arse handed to him right now, proving his initial claim was mere projection about how he feels about musk and those critical of EVs. Has refuted zero points that he brought to the discussion.

It’s an inevitability for sure. Most likely will take another 30-50 years. Maybe more maybe less. So not really a matter of support or not.

What is the correct representation of what he said?

Musk has not been shy about wanting to end fossil fuel usage entirely in the future.
