End of story. Don't let your kids play at the waterline. Don't let your dogs down by the waterline. Why can't people understand this?

Or, we could greatly reduce the population size from Louisiana all the way to Florida. Those fricks might have outlasted the dinosaurs but those of us with opposable thumbs can and should wipe them clean off the map in America.

The people in my neighborhood, most from New York, call the FWD on the gators in our ponds all the time. We had one in the lake behind our house and we loved watching him. Some dumb arse lady walked her dog by the pond and he swam over towards her so she called the FWD and said it was being "aggressive". They caught it and removed it

There was a big argument afterwards on the facebook page and people really got their feelings hurt.

We have 75 ponds in our sub division and they are out there all the time catching them and relocating them.

People suck

It’s important to stay away from the water’s edge at dusk and dawn because that’s when the animal eats

This is the biggest load of shite, sure it may be the more popular time bc prey animals can’t see as well during those times. Crocs will eat when given the opportunity to eat, no matter the time of day.

Kill the reptile and let the Pugs do what they do, and that’s Pug about. Why does Florida have a hard on when it comes to protecting the creatures that would eat you or your pets? Kill ‘em on sight.

This. Humans are more important.

I'm an old guy. I lived in Winter Haven Florida as a kid. Winter Haven was called the city of 100 lakes. When I was a kid, the lake down the hill from my home, had plumped in white sand beaches with little kids playing in the water. It's not there anymore thanks to "endangered" alligators population growth.

Hell growing up going to Disney we used to swim in the lake at fort wilderness all the time.

Yeah, I wouldn’t put up with something like this next to my house.

and people often watch children wade through the water where the crocodile has been hanging out.

Those people might want tell those kids that swimming in the back canals of Florida might just be a bad idea.

But I guess those kids will learn one way or the other either way.

Should probably stop relocating them to one of the other ponds

Why is an invasive specie protected?

Maybe because it isn't an invasive species. With the disastrous issue Florida currently has with actual invasive species, maybe trying to wipe out one of the only apex predators in the ecosystem isn't such a good idea. Maybe a touch of personal responsibility and a little habitat and resource management is what is needed more than allowing feelings and emotions to dictate every policy-making decision.

Relocate the animal if people can't take responsibility for their pets and children or truly come to terms with where they live and the habitat it fosters, but don't kill it or advocate for killing the rest of them. Of course, the decision making of people is why Florida is in such a mess with its wildlife and natural resources these days.

no way crocodiles should be endangered species. there is a hell of a difference between crocs and gators. crocs are aggressive and man eaters. i say eliminate them all (in america). there's plenty of crocs elsewhere in the world.
