I mean, shite, I worked at Starbuck's in college. It's up to the manager what type of loitering is allowed. Depending on the establishment, I've stayed at a Starbuck's basically all day without spending a dime, and others I've been asked to make a purchase to continue using their facility. No problem either way unless you make it one, really.
